Hi. I need help with crocheting a cap for the hair on a Waldorf doll. How do I do it? My daughter and I are making her first doll and I would like to crochet a cap for her hair. Is there anywhere I can search for instructions on this?? Thanks!

I know that Joy's Dolls sells a book with instructions...

This is what I do for my 12" doll caps:

foundation: ch3, join with ss
rnd1: 2sc in each ch (6sc)
rnd2: 2sc in each sc (12sc)
rnd3: *sc1, 2sc in next sc* around (18sc)
rnd4: *sc2, 2sc in next sc* around (24sc)
rnd5: *sc3, 2sc in next sc* around (30sc)
rnd6: *sc4, 2sc in next sc* around (36sc)
rnd7: *sc5, 2sc in next sc* around (42sc)
rnd8: *sc6, 2sc in next sc* around (48sc)

At this point, the resulting cupped disc should be big enough to cover the crown of the head. Continue to sc around without inc until the cap is big enough to meet the hairline all around the doll head.

If you need to do a bigger doll wig, just keep inc 6 st in each round until you get to the size you need, then sc around without inc as indicate above.
