My EDD (estimated by 2 ultrasounds 1 at 7 weeks one at 20) was the 16th of June (9 days ago). The practice i am with is supportive of Vbacs but against policy to let any woman go beyond 42 weeks. As this is my last week I am starting to think of options to try at home (besides sex and nipple S. and walking.. tried those many times). I have been dilating for weeks now as well! I was 5 1/2 CM last I was checked a week ago so I know I am on the verge of being ready.

I just can not imagine going though all this progress and then reaching next Monday with a c-section only option (because I am a VBAC). I have my 41 week appt tomorrow and was going to discuss a game plan of when so and so should be tried before we reach Monday? Has anyone had good luck with castrol Oil and also being so dilated?

Thanks

With a VBAC, I would never attempt to induce labor. Nipple stimulation and sex are two ways that I can think of that are safe - but anything beyond that is only asking for trouble.

Check out the "I'm 5 Days Overdue" thread in the I'm Pregnant forum. Has some good information.

It sounds like you're right there - I doubt you'll go too much longer. Just be easy on yourself. You can always refuse induction - even "accidentally" missing your induction day (as another poster mentioned on the thread I suggested). Give yourself time!

Watch some good movies - especially emotionally charged movies. Laughing and crying are great ways to release energy for labor! :)

By the way, do you have a due date based on your cycle at all?

This is not about your body or your baby. THis is about politics and insurerers.

You are doing this, and I know your body can do it.

Wondering... in those optons to try at home... is there birth? I have always told myself that if I got risked out of VBAC with my "careprovider" I would do a UC if I couldn't find anyone else to assist.

And. you can always refuse that ERCS.

You are doing this! When you go, your labor will be amazing! Already half way to pushing! Woohoo!

But sounds like you have to create a safe protected place for your birth that doesn't involve the OR....

Blessings to you,
jaya

Just wanted to lend support - I agree with everything that Jaya said, If you are comfortable with it Homebirth is WONDERFUL!

You can do it - don't feel rushed just believe in your body as it *knows* how to birth :love

Peace!

Can't write lots now, but thanks all!
We have our beautiful daughter now! born Wed. early morning the 25th. She was a successful VBAC and fast labor! I was complete in 45 min from when labor started. She was 8lbs 14 oz. I am still on cloud 9!
Thanks again!!!

I knew she would come when ready!

Congrats to you! And welcome to your new family member! I'm so happy it worked out so well.

:hug

DS (my c/s) was 10 days late and I'm a bit paranoid about that this time, so it's encouraging to hear that although you were overdue, it still worked out.
