My brother and sis-in-law are expect baby #2 in late July. Actually, the due date is early August, but she is going to have a PLANNED c-section!! She had a c-birth with their first, and he had breathing problems after birth. I've told them about how vaginal birth lowers the risk of problems like that, but they're not interested.

I'm so frustrated, because my second was a VBAC. I know how much better it is for mom and baby, but she won't even give it a try.

Just bummed for my new little niece, and wanted to share with some mamas who can sympathize...

Boy! This just irritates me! Planned cesarean and circumcision are some of the only elective surgeries that insurance pays for, and they're also usually not in the patient's best interest.

I wish doctors weren't allowed to do any elective surgery without medical (or, in the case of reconstructive surgery, psychological) bases. But, just for "convenience?"

Bah! :angry

Namaste,
Alex
