Last night I was sitting at our kitchen table doing my son's reading lessons with him, and all of a sudden I felt major wetness (TMI). I went to the bathroom, and there was enough fluid to make a wet spot about the size of a dollar bill on my underwear/shorts. It didn't have a smell at all. I *really* don't think it was pee, because I was just sitting there when it happened -- not sneezing or coughing or even moving at all, and the only sensation I felt when it happened was the wetness, no strange feeling in my bladder or anything like that. I had a couple of painless contractions right after it happened, as well as a general nagging, achy feeling in my pelvic area until I went to bed, but here I am at work this morning, with nothing going on whatsoever. The achy feeling is even gone. I haven't had any more fluid leaking.

Do you think I should call my doctor or just wait and see if anything else happens? If it matters, I have polyhydramnios, and they have me on preterm labor "watch" because of this.

Honestly, I would call your doctor. Better to be safe.

The same thing happened to me while pg w/ my ds. I was SLOWLY leaking fluid, so when you do (cause you need to) call your dr, ask them if they can do a fluid level check. They also have something that they can "test" with around your privates to see if it actually was fluid. I kept telling everyone that I was not peeing on myself and no one, but the dr thought it might be true. Dont worry about it, just call. My ds was fine and still is. I think that water breaks in different ways, but I am no dr, mw or otherwise in the medical field. I am sure that everything is fine. Big hugs and best of luck:)

I delivered my son two weeks ago, and was at the doc for a routine visit. She sent me to the hospital immediately after she discovered that I had a "slow, high leak" - I would never have known - I had a bit of moisture - a little less than you describe - and didn't think anything of it. She saw a lot of moisture while she examined me. I'm so glad I had that appointment that day. I'd hate to think of what might have happened otherwise. So, yes - call your doc.
