I am 10 weeks along now and I am sure with my other two I had picked a name by now...I am a very impatient person.
This time I have no interest in looking for a name. I look through name books and lists and nothing at all peaks my interest. Its just kind of interesting and I wonder if I'll ever feel the need to name this little grapefruit baby. Hey, maybe grapefruit baby will do. :eek

Don't worry you have plenty of time. It took me a while to get on the name wagon this time (#4). I am 5.5 months and we are discussing names but nothing is set.

With #1 we didn't have the names set until I was 8 months or so. With this one, I had names before I had a positive pregnancy test!

dd1 - name picked at 5 months along or so.
dd2 - name picked at 8 or 9 months along (harder when you have to find something that "goes" with the first kid's name....)
dd3 - didn't make a decision until the day after she was born!

I have all my names 2 boys 2 girls picked out 9 years ago. Since it was a pain to name my pets I though I better get my kids names picked once I was married :D

We always knew our second girl would be Mary. BUT as my water broke 6 weeks early, we went to hospital without a car seat or a boy's name LOL!!
We did get a car seat and a boy's name (Will) but didn't need the latter.
My dh won't even discuss names until I'm almost in labor.....

I had my girl name picked out since I was a little girl. And bingo...I am having a girl.
Now if I was having a boy, I don't know what I would do. I have been thinking of boy names but none I really like.

we started working on names at 12 weeks. with both girls i had names soon as we had the 20wk u/s and gender.
the boy i'm carrying now is not giving up his name so easily as his sisters did. We're at 33wks 4 days and have 3 names we're considering but nothing set yet.
i don't feel too badly tho. my friend amey had her baby at 5:30 this morning and they're still working out names for him ;)

I used to type birth certs...so I saw tons of names I did not like and several that i did.
with ds we had a boys name almost immediate and a girls name by about 14 weeks.
With Sweetpea, we had names chosen 2 days after the positive hpt.
With this babe. We still have that girls name hangin in there (I still don't think we'll need it) and a boys name is close to being decided.
I like choosing names early because it helps me "identify" with this babe. We won't know if baby is a boy or girl until birth so it also helps us live with the names too.

We had the name Sam (Samantha Claire or Samuel ????) picked out for our firstborn WAY before we even were able to start trying to get pregnant. Having twins threw us for a loop, but by about week 9 or 10 we knew that the second baby would be Mica -- when we found out at 12 weeks that we had lost Mica about week 9, it helped, somehow, that Mica had already been named..... DP's first baby never got an "official" name (stillbirth at 20+ weeks about 24 years ago) and part of the complication of the grief is that baby's namelessness....
If we were to have another baby, my guess is that we would have a name pretty early, too....
we'll see!!!!

With ds we had an idea of names for a boy or girl, but didn't really decide until the night he was born (and we knew it was a he LOL). We wanted to hold him and stare at him for a while to make sure that is who he really was. This time we have not even discussed it yet (I am 30 weeks). We figure we'll wait till the babe is born and get to know him or her first. We also like the idea of picking a name that has something to do with when he/she is born. Some way to honour the conditions of the birth :)

We had names picked out before our 18 week u/s. And I'm saving the girl's name we picked out for future use! :D

With my first son he didn't get a name till he was born. I had planned on Jonathan but got tired of hearing myself say it by the time he came. He got Shawn If he was a she the name would have been Felicia.
2nd son, my dh wanted Matthew but his sis-inlaw insisted that is she ever had a boy that there would then be two Matthews in the family as that was the only name she and her dh could agree on if they had a boy. So we picked Jonathan because I had always wished I didn't change my mind the first time. We really hadn't decided for sure till we knew he was a boy around 20wks.
This time around we don't care what sis-inlaw says~Matthew for a boy. Decided right after the shock wore off. Angelica for a girl. Jonathan would have been Angelica if he was a she.
