An obsessive freak? I've already started planning which maternity clothes I'm going to buy, where I'm buying the baby's clothes. I've made a pregnancy timeline of all the things I need to do in order so I will be fully prepared for the baby, its already 3 pages long. :lol

LOL! :lol
I was that way with my first. I was 7 months pregnant when my husband finally put up the crib....after I had been asking him for months! I started ordering stuff and thrift-store shopping right away! This time I'm a bit more relaxed.

I'm more relaxed this time around I think. I always obsess about names. :lol Everything else though just sorta flows when its time. Of course..... I just got rid of almost all my baby clothes in a decluttering attempt a few months ago. Oops. :lol I'm hoping this one is a boy so I don't kick myself for getting rid of all my girl things.

Only thing I'm sort of obsessing about at the moment is choosing a new midwife. This is #4 and Obsessing has never been my strong point. Iv'e been accused of being too relaxed actually.
I don't obsess about the name but it's a huge topic. Wev'e always known our girl name right away. Funny cause I have 3 girls but this time we have a boy name (same as last time) but no girl name.

Hmm. I kind of figure that with three kids already and one on the way, I can control the small stuff, but the big things (like how to stop the toddler putting the baby in the tumble dryer, stopping the dog from running away over the fields as the midwife arrives at the house, how to prevent ds2 from having an asthma attack on the day I'm in labour, etc.) are way out of my league :lol

I've been on the Trading Post looking for diapers and maternity clothes already.
:lol
It's finals week and I'm very behind in school, which should be a much higher priority than clothing my millimeter-long blastocyst! :duck:
The name is absolutely taken care of if she's a girl. Having it panned on a different site completely confirmed that in my mind, so there's really no point in talking about it any more.
I'm sure things will work themselves out in completely unexpected ways the way they did with my older kids.

Obsessively organizing over here, too! I have already hired a new midwife, picked out a boy name and a girl name, brought out the 0-3 and 3-6 month clothes and sorted them by boy and gender neutral, and started shopping for girl outfits as well so no matter which gender we have we will be prepared.
The newborn dipes are already on the changing table and I'm pondering how to rearrange our bed to accommodate a newborn AND a toddler.

I was kind of that way with my first, but have gotten more and more simple as the babies have increased. At this point all I'll be buying is clothes as needed for my self, onsies, cloth diapers and a new sling (got rid of mine). Oh, and a really good car seat.
Sounds like you are really enjoying your shopping and planning. I think that's neat. Maybe it's your way of celebrating?

I've always had a girl name right off the bat, and barely had a boy name in time for the birth. I'm three for three. Three births, three boys. This time I've got the boy name, and I know what girl names I like but daddy won't agree. He loves the boy name I want. I think he's glad I won't give the baby his name, which would make him J. W. the fifth.

I'm positively AWFUL, but they didn't have cute maternity jeans with pockets (much less embroidery on the pockets) the last time I was pregnant, and since I was at the consignment shop anyway, I picked up a hotsling for $9.95, another terrycloth sleeper, and another little yellow EC friendly gown. Then I went to Ross and got another pair of yoga pants and three absolutely adorable and somewhat sexy tops in the Junior Department, size extra large.
Make me stop!

I am glad to see that others are planning and buying already. I have already bought 12 prefolds, 4 fitteds, and 1 3in1(that I am very excited about)
I looked at maternity clothes the other day b/c I need some pants for work but did not buy anything. I want to buy a dress however...we will see.
and I have already started looking at car seats, slings, cribs and mattresses...

You guys are so on top of things! I'm usually an "obsessive freak" but I haven't started yet. I guess it's still sinking in...
I've made a pregnancy timeline of all the things I need to do in order so I will be fully prepared for the baby, its already 3 pages long. :lolWow! Can you share any of your timeline? That sounds cool!

With my first, yes I was somewhat obsessive in researching diapers, thinking about maternity clothes, baby clothes, etc.
With this one- not so much. We've pretty much got most of what we need, the few things that I would like to get can wait until much later. My maternity clothes are all going to be the wrong season, but I'm not too worried- it seems like ALL of my friends have had children since I had my first son and seeing as we tend to share things I'm sure that plenty of hand-me-down maternity clothes in the correct season will come my way as needed.

I think I'm still worried that this baby won't "stick", so I really haven't done much planning, other than reading a lot about homebirth and trying to get DH on board. And trying to lose the rest of my "baby weight" from ds#2 before I start gaining more! :lol

I've slowed down a bit, although I was totally obsessed with picking out a bike trailer and safety seat before I found out for sure that I can't do that. My diaper stash is complete, I found an inexpensive used Ergo, and if the bean doesn't stick, I'm absolutely going to have to sell everything to get some of my money back which will be heartrending.
I still need a safety seat for the car (I want a Britax Marathon but s/he will need to grow into it so I'll probably get an inexpensive infant seat for at first since I will only be using it in a car and only a few times before s/he grows into the marathon.
I want to get a Burley Solo (trailer) but since I'm not planning on touring or anything, I could probably get by with a much less expensine InStep Quick 'n easy if I have to. I also need a good breast pump, but I don't want to think about leaving a nursling to chase after a paycheck right now.
I love, love, love my Maternity clothes and haven't looked this stylish in years!

When I got pregnant in February, I went on a crazy shopping spree! Mostly books that I'd been denying myself until then (prengancy and birth books), some yoga pants, huge bags of RRL tea... it was awesome.
This time I'm holding back, partly because I already have the books, pants, tea, etc., and partly because I'm more worried and cynical than exited and shopping for now.
So far I have been pretty obsessive about contacting my OB practice and getting my betas tested etc, but for everything else I figure I have a few months... :wink (But mentally I'm rearranging furniture and scripting discussions with my boss.)

I have OCD, so yes, I'm an obsessive freak when I'm pg! Actually, I seem to get more laid back with each pregnancy, but I have SO MUCH to do during this pregnancy and so much to acquire (we gave away most of our baby stuff after C was born) that I feel the need to get organized.
I need to clean out all the closets and take stock of what baby clothes, blankets, diapers, etc. we have left, although after three summer kids, I doubt any of the clothes are season-appropriate! :lol I also need to find my maternity clothes.
I don't see my midwife until Monday, but have the list of homebirth supplies from last time saved on my computer, so I've made a list of what supplies I need to buy and am adding things as I think of them.
Starting in the fall, I'll put the word out to friends letting them know what I need and hopefully will acquire a bunch of stuff that way - I have a great "tribe" of friends and we seem to share clothes, birth supplies, etc quite often. My friend S gave me supplies for C's birth that she didn't need and then I gave our friend Sh what homebirth supplies I didn't use. We've passed clothes, diapers, covers, etc. around - as a matter of fact, I already have 2 pair of wool longies for this babe because my friend S was so sure I was going to have another that she gave them to me as soon as her dd had outgrown them!
