Hi-

Does anyone know of any good online stores that sell cool classroom/homeschool supplies? I don't mean curriculum type stuff, but things like calendars, bulletin board sets, learning charts, etc. I want to set up a cool "learning area" in my house with a big bulletin board and posters on the wall. But I have no idea where to buy stuff like that! All of the catalogs I get are for curriculum type things....

TIA! :)

Not an online store, but the Dollar Tree usually has that type of stuff. When the boys were small I made a border for the playroom out of printables from the Jan Brett website - all the numbers all around the room.

Also watch your yard sales ads for "retiring teacher" or "teacher" yard sales, since you can find lots of that type of thing there!

Lakeshore Stores http://www.lakeshorelearning.com or look for Educational Supply Stores in your area. If there is a Lakeshore near you, they have free Saturday crafts. US Toys/Constructive Playthings is another resource.

Don't forget regular office supply stores, also--Office Max, Office Depot, Staples, etc.

Don't forget IKEA! They have lots of the things you mentioned cheaper than "teacher" stores.

http://www.learningresources.com has tons of great stuff! They have some amazing games, manipulatives, etc.

This is for different stuff, but my children have really enjoyed their products...

http://www.scholastic.com/ has some really neat stuff, too. You can probably sign up to be in the teachers area as a homeschooler (which I did years ago). Sometimes they have fantastic sales.

You might be amazed what you can get on Freecycle or Craigslist, too. I've heard of teachers selling off tons of old stuff, homeschoolers giving away things they didn't use or that still have tons of use left in them, etc. I've gotten free things from the free tables at different homeschool curriculum sales and homeschool parties.

And I'm always a fan of http://www.enchantedlearning.com .
