my family has been gluten intolerant for many years now. my toddler has been sick for months despite a very clean diet. we had her retested last week (we use kinisiology - muscle testing) and sorghum came up bad. in fact sorghum has come up bad on every gluten intolerant person she has tested (about 7 people so far). sorghum is one of the new flours replacing wheat in many gluten free products - such as the great enjoy life products and bobs red mill - both dedicated bakerys. i am curious if other gluten intolerant people are testing bad to sorghum. it is not a gluten, yet we all test bad. :dizzy:

Sorghum is gluten-free. I don't react to it at all.

Muscle testing doesn't stand up in independent double blind studies, FWIW. I wouldn't rely on it.

we haven't had any problem with sorghum here and we are gluten free.
in regards to kinesiology, we LOVE our practitioner and she has literally changed our life.
good luck!

sorghum is fine for me, too. Kinesiology, not so much...i felt like i had been totally ripped off when i went to see a practitioner...i was desperate to help my baby, and the guy told me things that were just TOTALLY wrong. It was a waste of time and money, and in my opinion, it's total hogwash. After the experience i read a few articles and books that said that there is little scientific data to support it. Unfortunately, i listened to a very emphatic advisor who felt she had been given good results, and i went made an appointment and got ripped off. i'm resolving from now on to do my homework beforehand!
Good luck to you, whatever you do!

talia rose-
i was in a rush yesterday when i posted and wanted to add some thoughts...
you have to trust your gut with your kinesiologist. i have read some not to postive things too online- as other posters mention. the woman that i work with has a really good reputation, is excellent at what she does, and just to prove it when we did the blood test for allergens- they came up the same as what she had already told me!
regarding sorghum testing bad- sometimes i had to be a bit liberal with what tested safe or not. we were/are on such a restricted diet that is one food came up 100% distressing and another 10%, well, hey, sometimes i had to pick and choose for the sake of my own nutrition- and sanity. so my point is - sometimes i wonder if the things my kinesiologist tests as bad won't cause visible, or noticeable symptoms- no rash, no digestive upset- but maybe in my son's body/my body there is some lesser level of distress going on, you know?
i found that as long as there were no life threatening reactions or painfully obvious ones, sometimes i had to say- if she says it tested bad but we're not having a problem with it that i can tell- we'll have it once in a while.
sorry for my rambling but hope that helps!
