Can anyone recommend a good backpack for a 6th grader? My son wants one that is very roomy and has a few of compartments/pockets (and looks cool, of course). I'd like to get him a high-quality one that is reasonably priced.
Thanks & peace,
LEmama

LL Bean's packs last us for years...

I just ordered LL Bean's last week. They are no more expensive (and actually cheaper) than others out there. They have a great return policy too which is great for my kids who are hard on their packs.

I got my boy an LLBean pack at the start of 5th grade. He's going to be a soph in HS this year, and it's still nearly good as new. Excellent value.

I second Jansport. My dd has carried the same one since kindergarten and she's going into fifth grade. she really wants a new one, but this one still looks great.

Thanks for your replies! One of my other children has an L.L. Bean pack, and we are very happy with it's quality. My 12 year old doesn't seem to like how it looks, though. I'll check out Jansport...

LLBean has a variety of styles, especially if you look at the teen/young adult packs.
