What does it cost to get the dealership to install tether anchors in an older (2000 Chrysler Grand Voyager). Would any Chrysler dealership be able to do it? Where would they be installed? (I'm afraid my tether strap wouldn't reach a floor anchor unless). Does it take long for the installation? (waiting in a dealership with 2 children can be really unfun).
Thanks for any info on this.

I recently bought a tether anchor for my 1993 Volvo (I assume you mean top tethers, not LATCH). The tether cost $17, and they quoted me $50 to install it. The part came with instructions and I installed it myself in about 5 minutes-- all you need is a socket wrench. I think all cars after 1990 or so have places for the anchors, it's covered with a plastic circle that is easily pried off. Then you just screw on the tether anchor. Really, my husband, mom or little sister could do it and they all have NO mechanical skills (like, can't put oil in the car, let alone change it). :lol
Don't pay someone to do it for you, unless you just have money you don't know what to do with.

Now that is a problem I wouldn't mind having :lol

Where do you buy the anchor? Thanks for letting me know I can do it myself...I definitely don't have $50 to give someone for doing something I can do myself. ;)

I did this with my Subaru!
I know that some dealerships will install them for free... perhaps with some creative arm twisting?!!

Here the dealerships will do them for free, but it might be becaue you have to have them by law for ff seats.

Most places will put one in for free, some will do all for free. We had one put into our old Ford for free.

We bought the part from the Volvo dealership.
I really don't see why they wouldn't put it in for free, it's SO easy it took ME <5 minutes, I bet it'd take someone there less than a minute! But no, they told me "Around $50"!

What about the lower LATCH anchors that stick out of the seat. Can you have those installed?

In some VW models you can and only certain years.
