View Full Version : Cute maternity clothes for big girls?

I was just window shopping at OldNavy.com and Gap.com and I'm really disappointed that all the cute maternity tops are *still* hip-huggers. I am a size 12 on top and 16 on bottom and I can *never* find cute clothes in my proportions. The tops that fit my boobies are too tight and get all stretched out around the hips. Gross. I want something comfortable that looks pretty on top and skims the hips, not suffocates them!

I'm going to go to Old Navy tomorrow to see if they still have those non-maternity trapeze tops on sale. Any suggestions on where else to shop? It's sooo frustrating to try on clothes these days.

I went to Target, and got several tops that don't grab at all. I'm about a 14-16 on top, and an 18 on bottom, so I'm similar to you ;-). The ones I got almost look like shorty dresses when on; they have a high waistline (up under the bust) and then are really loose and flowing to the hem.

I am so there tomorrow. I knew I love Target for a reason (many, actually)!

Thanks, Ironica!

Oh, and they rearranged ours so that the maternity section is right next to the "women's" section ;-). This came in handy because, for some reason, a couple of those tops don't completely close at the top! So I got a couple of appropriately sized camisoles to wear under them. It doesn't matter that they "cling" because they're for underneath, anyway.
