I am kari I have 2 boys 12 yrs (Justin) 20 months (Nathan we live in Rush City, MN. Now my question today Nathan had a swelling eye and a bump on his head we took him to the urgent care and the doc said it was a allergic reaction to a mosketo bite, and to put hydrocortozone cream and to give benedril and to keep him away from the mosketos I am not sure how to do that, does anyone know of some stuff other then mosketo spray that will keep away the bugs, he has senstive skin and has broke out from the spray. he loves to go outside to play so I am desprate to find something natural or other wise baby safe so he can go play outside.

Thanks!!!:crying

I've heard *great* things about catnip essential oil--but haven't tried it myself.

Anyone else!?

Hi!
I'm actually firmly in the DEET camp myself so don't have any suggestions for you, but hope you find what you're looking for.

And Welcome - glad you are here, look forward to meeting you & your boys.

Just wanted to say hi and welcome! I grew up going to Rush Lake every weekend. I'm still in search of natural skeeter spray that works, Dh likes DEET, the stronger the better, but I hate using it on the kids.

I just bought an "Off" product w/o DEET that uses Eucalyptis oil. It worked really well this afternoon in our shady, mosquito laden yard.

Other than that, I would suggest long shirts and pants and hats...not fun, but...

Thanks for all the suggestions, I will try them. We took him outside at noon today and the skeets seamed to be very little so I think I will use the bug spray and time his out door time so he dont get too many bites. :snap
