Are they acting WAY more affectionate than usual???
Mine won't leave me alone...don't get me wrong, I love him dearly but geez, enough is enough already...
He's part Siamese and part Tabby.....BIG and orange..
He's normally the standoffish, I'm pretty just look and don't touch me kinda cat....
But the past 2 weeks he won't leave me alone...
I lay on the sofa and he's on my side padding away (with claws) and then sitting on my side...
I sit on the floor and he's curled up so close to my legs that he may as well be IN them if you kwim.....
Is this any indication that baby is here SOON?????????
It's just that btwn him and dd, I'm all touched out already...what's it gonna be like in a few weeks or days?

I have 2 adult cats and a kitten and i can't get a good night sleep! All night 1 or 2 or 3 is all over me! They follow me everywhere now and I am constantly tripping over someone crawling around my legs. They have gotten VERY affectionate towards me.

My IL's dog would sit on my feet to "protect" me from the very early stages of pregnancy with my DD. She usually ignored me before I got pregnant, but add baby, and WHAM! she wouldn't leave me alone!

My dog is now very protective of me. I can't pet any other dogs at the dog park because he immediately starts attacking. He also fights with one of my cats over who is going to "protect me". This cat also has to sleep right next to me at night and will not leave me alone!

My two cats are always hanging around too... They weren't quite so thrilled when the last baby got here but now that I'm pg again they're acting just as affectionate.
Last time it was funny, I would take baths and DS would start moving around inside my tummy and I'd look like an alien was trying to crawl out. And my cat would sit on the rim of the bathtub and stare at my stomach and try to pat it gently. So funny.

My cat is all over me when I am pregnant. Lately he has been licking me. I can't sit on the couch to read a story without ds1, ds2 and the cat competing for space in my shrinking lap. I considered getting another cat to keep him distracted but feared they would both end up on top of me.

During my first pregnancy, I owned a cat who had NEVER been affectionate. She was always very skittish, had never enjoyed petting, never wanted to sit in my lap, nothing. The moment I was pregnant, she couldn't get enough of cuddling me. She turned into the nicest, sweetest, purringest little lap kitty ever.
While I was in labor, she curled up next to me on the bed. We joked that she was my cat doula. It was pretty wild. She was either innately sensing something, or she was just very affected by some sort of pheromone I was emitting.

My curent cat has never been affectionate (to me) and quite frankly, has been a major nuisance who would have ben rehomed years ago if my kids weren't so fond of her.
The pregnancy also corresponds to a much heavier work schedule for me (which was practically solitary confinement by the oor cat's perception) and the big kids' leaving home, so I don't know what is cause and effect.
BUT
She and I are getting along fabulously now. She's cute and appealing when I get off of work and she doesn't demand that I feed her before I even have a chance to wake up in the morning and she's stopped her annoying habit of running to the litterbox for an excessively noisy dump whenever she sees me sit down and eat.
I'm actually rather relieved that dd is letting me kep custody of the cat when she moves out on Friday.
I've seen this in the previous cat during all three previous pregnancies, but I never would have believed that this one would go the same way. She has never had kittens and my big kids were five and two when we got her. I think I might even start buying her better quality cat food again if I can afford it and a treat or two....as long as the big kids don't catch me and tease me. ;)

I've had a foster kitty since just before I got preggers and she got REALLY AFFECTIONATE the past few months. I do hope it's because she's HAPPY and not because she's sensing something from me... because she just got adopted and I told the new mom how affectionate she is. I'd hate to have her go home with her new mom and be a snot!

I have five cats, all of whom are relatively affectionate. However, my first kitty (the one I had before I met DH) is now OBSESSED with me. She follows me everywhere, purrs uncontrollably, and rubs herself all over me. It's a little maddening, in all honesty. I can't go the bathroom without her scurrying in after me before I have time to shut the door, and she sits next to the bed at night and stares at me, purring. DH has taken to calling her my little stalker.
