anyone else have dreams about birthing your baby?

i have had them off and on since 5w. they have all basically revolved around the idea of giving birth at home, on my own. they're all pretty wonderful and i've only had one that was in any way scary (in the end i had to give infant cpr, but instead of a baby, i was giving cpr to a pregnancy test!).

last night i dreamed that i had an absolutely gorgeous baby boy. seriously, i cannot get the image of him out of my head. fair skin, dark, dark hair. it was funny because i remember very clearly looking to see if it was a boy or girl and got a clear image of his penis. :lol

in all of my dreams, dh is never there, instead it's always some member of my family. in last night's dream, it was my dad (who i had just talked to on the phone for the first time in a long time yesterday afternoon). he was very sleepy and i had to wake him up to help me get settled after i had the baby. i had gotten so wrapped up in staring at my baby while we laid in bed and all the sudden i realized we needed to call dh, et al.

also, in all of my dreams, i am giving birth to a full term baby even though i am only as pregnant as i am now. so, last night, i had this perfect baby at 14w4d! in the dreams i always have to send someone out to get diapers and other baby supplies since we don't have anything yet!

anyway. just wondering if anyone else is having dreams like this?

I've had two dreams that are sort of about birthing the baby, but nothing like yours. I've never seen myself at that time either, so no idea if I were big pregnant or not.

The first was screwed up, my mom gave birth to the kid, my gram called me to tell me "she" had been born, but not to come to the hospital, and then the next day a doctor called me to tell me she had died, but I was still not allowed to come, I was livid and screaming every f-bomb I could muster. So, not that I gave birth, but birth was given.

The other one was that I clearly had a baby (though I had nothing in the dream about the actual birth process). Just that I was very disraught because the baby was all white, not half black, indicating that Mr Toona did not father it. Turns out, Gilbert Blythe did. :roflmao.

I liked the second one better!

my mw claims everyone has these crazy dreams. she remembers one she had where she gave birth to a litter of puppies instead of a baby. she says the weirdest thing is that to this day she can remember how much love she felt for those puppies!

the dream i had with the cpr involved having quadruplets and while i was on the phone with my midwife to tell her about them, my mom decided to bathe the babies :dizzy: in one of those pink plastic tubs from a hospital and they all drowned. :( it was when i was trying to give cpr to all 4 of them that they transformed from babies to pregnancy tests.

I've had breast feeding dreams. No actual birthing, but really vivid, explicit dreams about trying to get the baby to latch for the first time.

I had a dream when I was pregnant with DS that I gave birth to my baby, but when he came out, he was the size of a 2-year-old, and we didn't have any clothes that would fit him or diapers in his size. I sure did love my gigantic baby, though!:lol

I had the most wonderful dream about breastfeeding our baby the other night.
I did the lower lip flip latch technique like a pro!

Now my boobs have been killing me ever since then! Makes me a bit glad that I've held off buying the new bras.

weird.....last night i had a dream 19 mo dd was pg(weird in itself) and i was her mw. i was telling her to push and then she pooped instead! well, a dream emergency called me away and all the while i was desperately trying to get back to dd. when i finally got back, my dear friend was crying in the bathroom while she was cleaning the toilet and she could only nod her head when i asked if dd had died:( she had drowned too. but when i picked her wet body up, she was warm and moved very slightly and i knew she was only sleeping, but i woke up irl before i could wake dd up in my dream. it was so sad.

no birth dreams yet for me..................i visualize the birth and i know how it will go. i never had birth dreams with dd either. i just knew how it would happen. i guess because my subconscious mind wasn't wondering about it, i never dreamed about birthing. :shrug

I've had a recurring nightmare about giving birth to identical twins prematurely in the bathroom at Starbucks. :dizzy: Little boys, both of them fine... but in December, and they were *tiny* and smelled like coffee. :o

i haven't had any more birth dreams lately, but i am having a lot of other dreams. i like that the fact that i am pregnant comes up in every one of them. it's kind of awkward how my character in the dream always finds a way to slip it in.

i am currently watching "we have 15 children" on TLC so i'm sure tonight i will be british and find out i'm carring a dozen babies. fantastic!

Everyone else keeps having my baby except me!!

FIrst there was the disturbing dream in which my mom went to the hospital to give birth to my daughter, my Gram called me to tell me how cute Senara was, but I couldn't go see her. Then the doctor called me to tell me she died, but I still wasn't able to see her...

Then, Mr Toona gave birth to our son, and I tried for a whole day to get in to see them. Finally I got in and saw little Hektor, who was all hooked up to some machines, because he was "high risk" since his dad gave birth to him. He was perfectly health, though and SOOO cute!

And as you might guess, I still don't have a clue if it's a boy or girl!

When am I going to have the baby in my dreams?

I love reading these!

I haven't had any birth dreams yet. I've had a couple of dreams where I've just given birth & I'm with the baby - you know, the "I just gave birth, only this seems to be a toddler - oh, she can talk!" kind of dreams. :) Actually, I dreamed about our baby as a teenager the other day. That was interesting. I seem to be leaping ahead into the future - I wonder if I'll get around to the birth dreams? I'm guessing probably so, as we get closer to the due date. It's my first, so I don't have anything to go on yet!

I have had quite a few dreams about feeling the baby moving - which I think aren't really dreams! :D I love those dreams.

I had a dream the other night that I had an ultrasound and we saw 5 (diapered and clothed lol) babies inside. The next day I saw a set of twins and a set of triplets. I haven't had any prenatal care (except for the confirmation of pregnancy appt.) or any ultrasounds so now I'm wondering if I'm having more than one!!

I wish I'd have definite feelings about either sex but I havent had any. Maybe I'm having one boy and one girl? lol

I'm pretty sure my twin dream is merely manifestation of my fears-- the whole, "OMG!!!" factor, you know? :o

Yeah! It's probably the same for me, but it's always fun to play the what if game :D

I dreamt that my mom (who is 57, btw) had a baby boy and named him Duncan. As in, Duncan Hines, the baking mix :lol
