I had a scary start to this pregnancy but it looks as if this baby is actually going to join our family in Jan.! I was on bed rest from weeks 7-10 due to a large blood clot that was beneath the gestational sac. I was so sure I was miscarrying again but it re-absorbed and the baby is doing beautifully!
I had a nuchal translucency screening yesterday (ultra sound where they measure the fluid behind the baby's neck to screen for Down's syndrome and trisomy 18) and the baby is healthy! I didn't want to risk this pregnancy by having amniocentisis or CVS after my other losses, so I opted for the "risk-free" test.
The second trimester begins this Saturday and I am still in somewhat of disbelief after ttc for so long. Maybe it will really sink in when I am giving birth!
