WORLD BREASTFEEDING WEEK
AUGUST 1-7 2003
In honor of WORLD BREASTFEEDING WEEK, ProMoM (Promotion of Mother’s Milk, Inc.) encourages all breastfeeding mothers to participate in our third annual National Nurse Out.
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
1. Get out during August 1-7 and breastfeed in public more than usual.
2. Participate in a local nurse out, which is a casual
blanketing of an area without using signs.
WHY?
1. To help the public get used to the sight of a
nursing mother and ultimately accept
breastfeeding as a natural everyday occurence.
2. To encourage future parents by showing them
how practical it is to breastfeed.
3. And to meet other moms and have fun!
WHERE? MAINE MALL
Thursday August 7, 2003
Between 10am and noon, circulate through the mall at your leisure on your own or with your friends (nursing as needed, of course!) Join us at the food court at noon (I'll have a balloon on my stroller!) for lunch (bring/buy your own) to meet and get to know one another.
