I thought you might like this. Dd1 has decided that she wants to live in Amsterdam when she is older. She has therefore (just tonight) signed up for Dutch classes here, 2.5 hours a week until June. Dd2 decided to join her, so they are both now learning Dutch.
Dd1 has also informed me that she can always "stay with one of your friends in Amsterdam, Mom". So be warned. :lol You guys and the city really made an impression on her!

Will she stay outside of Amsterdam? :)
Tell me when she's ready for a NL pen pal, I got one handy here! Or, when she's ready to read, I can send you some books -- Dutch kids' books rock! She's been wanting to write to your dds but she feels embarrassed for not being able to write in English. By next year, maybe she can. But, anyway, she knows all about learning Dutch as a second language!
If you pm me an email addy, I'll send you the pics I still have here!
NL ladies, I still feel like a dork for not having brought anything to the get together. I didnt'know everybody would "go Dutch" in such a luverly way and I felt stupid not even thinking about it. Next time I can make it, I promise to bring something really really goo -- which I hope will be before the cows come home, as I'm working a lot again right now and both kids go to school every day (I can take DS4yo out for a day though).

btw DD was in Utrecht a few weeks ago. I quote: "it's just like Amsterdam, only prettier and not so messy" :lol
