Hello all :) Well...I just got a BFP on a digital test today. I lurked all through my last pregnancy (She will be three around when this new one is due) and really want to try and be more active in the DDC this time around! I couldn't even remember my previous login so I had to create a new one :D This was more or less a surprise. Well it's more like I went to check my fertility calender and noticed that what I thought was a good week and half before ovulation was actually ONE DAY before ovulation! Way to check *after* the deed is done - wurps :D

I'm still pondering how to tell DH when he gets home - he'll be happy, in fact he's been teasing that he would like another one for a while now. My only thing is that I really, really, really wanted to have lost more weight before getting pregnant again. I didn't want another overweight pregnancy, but I'll just have to work really hard at following my nutrition plan and walking my butt off. We're not talking vanity here, but just being at healthy weight. So I am little apprehensive/dismayed - probably more than normal since it's only been like an hour since I tested, lol.

My first birth was not ideal. I ended up with 42 hours of natural back labor (ha! I say it was more like *unnatural* - it was completely horrific) and ultimately a c-section. Here's to better beginnings!

I'm off to go catch up with the rest of the messages here - blessings to everyone!

-MM

Welcome and congrats!

I hear you about the weight... I could have stood to have lost a decent amount of weight before getting knocked up :lol but, this baby wanted to come now, so… I’m just going to keep up with my exercise and eat well and we’ll see how things go.

Btw- I hope you get the labor you want this time around!

Welcome and congratulations! I hear you about the weight. I've got to force myself to be more active and not gain as much weight (I gained 70+ last time!). I also had a horrific 48 hr labor followed by c/s. I'm hoping that by keeping my weight healthy and keeping active, I'll have a great vbac experience this time! Good luck with your pg goals!

Welcome! And I hope your birth is better this time around :). I labored for 35+ hours with dd and did manage to have a natural, vaginal birth, but if it hadn't been for my doula, I would have been sectioned for sure.

And ugh, the weight. I actually lost 5 lbs in my first tri with dd, but then more than made up for it by gaining 65 lb in the second and third :o. I have a bad back, and by the time dd was born, I was really hurting. Incredibly, I managed to lose it all and more; helped in no small part by spending a month or so on an insane elimination diet -- eating nothing but rice, potatoes, squash, pears, lamb and turkey -- in an effort to resolve some bf'ing issues with dd. It didn't work, but I dropped a ton of weight :lol.

Anyway, I'm at a decent weight right now, but not "in shape", you know? I really want to do some yoga and walking to try to build some strength. Childbirth is hard work :lol. And I do NOT want to gain so much weight again. It was just so hard on my body. I am trying trying trying to eat more healthfully this time around ...

Congratulations!!!

I am over weight also and started 3 weeks ago exercising and being very careful with what I eat and only eat when I am hungry. I plan to continue even thou I just found out today that I am pg also. Good food and exercise is always healthy, just be careful! I have about 100 pounds to loose, and just had a baby in March! Maybe we could encourage each other or start a thread in this DDC?!?!

Congratulations!!!

Congratulations!!! I love watching our board grow!

I hear ya on not gaining a bunch of weight this time! I gained 70 pounds with DD last time ~ that was WITH WALKING nearly every day through most of the pregnancy. My labor was very smooth and only 9 hours long, but my back at the end was also a major issue.

Good Luck!!!
