We haven't told ds about the new baby yet. He's not quite 3, and 9 months is an eternity to him, so I feel there's no rush--especially since we haven't told anyone else either.

Today out of the blue he mumbles something about "my brother." I tried to casually get him to elaborate, suggesting that maybe he knows someone who has a brother. He just kept insisting that it's HIS brother, but he doesn't know where he is.

Later he said it in front of dh, and dh asked him what's his brother's name? He said Gracie (the name of a girl down the street).:lol

I guess the most likely explanation is that he's overheard something between dh and I, or he's seen me reading books with pregnant women on them, and just put it together. Still kinda freaky though!

That is so cute and also amazing!

My dd is also too young to understand (17 months old). I pointed to my belly the other day and I said "baby." She then pointed to my belly and repeated "baby". I decided that is the last time I do that until I start showing. I don't want her doing that to me in public! :blush

my little four-year-old came up, patted me on the belly and said, "mama, there's a baby in your belly and it's a girl." i was in shock, and had her repeat it...and she said the exact same thing with emphasis.

i still had a week before i was even supposed to start, so i waited a couple of days before the suspense grabbed me...but the test was negative. took another one two days later, and YEP! baby time!

oh, and it's a girl, lol.

DS told me I had a baby in my belly right around ovulation. At first he was saying it's a girl but now he's changed his mind because he WANTS a little brother :lol We'll see. :P

Ds and I were staying with my sister to help with her kids when I found out I was finally pg. We didn't tell the kids at all. I told her very very quietly, dh the same. We didn't tell ds until after we'd left.

So my nephew (soon to be 3) woke up from his nap the other day and said "Uncle C is going to get very very fat and have a baby and sit in the rocking chair and hold it, and it'll be like my baby." So my sister asked, "and who's your baby?" And he replied "E!" (his baby sister). Now my dh and I have similar names, and the nicknames for each of our full names sound identical. There is NO way he could have overheard my sis and I talking.
