Hi all -

DH and I are separating and probably divorcing and I need help. I currently live in Brooklyn, NY, but once we separate, I am out of here. I'm trying to decide where DD and I should live, and of course, childcare is a large component in this equation.

Can anyone tell me what they pay or what they know the approximate cost is in what metro area of the above listed states? (You can PM me if you don't want to post the info publicly)

So far all I know is that a friend of mine pays $700/month in Manchester, NH.

Oh, also, if you know of any great jobs or good apartments in these places too, that would rock.

Thank you so much!!! I'm so overwhelmed.

When we were using childcare here in Northern Virginia it was $50/ kid per day. You can find cheaper, but not without compromising somewhere.

Daycare for a 2 -3 year old in Georgia is at least $180/week. Part-time care is usually $9+/hour.

When I lived in Northern VA (4 years ago) I payed $200/week for one child and that was a steal. I think the only thing cheaper was a home day care or babysitter. HTH
