View Full Version : Kathtech is giving birth early

This is Ed, Katherine's husband posting on for her.

Its late and she is in the hospital; I am on my way there as soon as Eilish, her stepmother, arrives to watch Edgar.

The baby was not moving and so she went to get it checked out - they say he is not getting enough oxygen and so they are delivering him via c-section right now - he will be 32 weeks which is a little early. Wish us luck. Flowers etc. can be sent to Kaiser West Los Angeles (on Cadillac) but are not necessary

Thanks for posting this, Ed. My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family.

32 weeks is early...but, situations like this are what all the amazing technology we have are for. I gave birth to my dd1 at 32 weeks, and if you saw her now you would not believe me!

Please give my love to Katherine and keep us updated as you are able.

:Hug and prayers coming your way. May your new baby be a blessing that just happened to arrive early.

As many PPs have mentioned, 32 weeks is early, but hopefully all will be well - I, too, have a friend who had her little girl at 32 weeks and they were able to go home after only 4 weeks in the NICU.

:Hug I'm hoping everything is OK too and her baby boy has a very short time in a NICU if at all. One of my friends has a baby that was born by c-section at 31 weeks and he never spent any time in a nicu and as I recall the Dr. decided to take him for the very same reason.

Hi everyone,

I just got out of the hospital. Desmond was born at 33.2 weeks gestation on Thursday at 12:06am at 5lbs 9oz and is absolutely beautiful. He is a feisty little guy.

I'm really exhausted and can't post much right now. I want you to know I thought of every one of you. They took the baby out by csection so fast my husband didn't even make it to the delivery, but when he met me in the recovery part he showed me some things he brought to make me feel better. One of those things was a manila envelope. It was all of our beads and quotes. They brought me a lot of strength.

I will post again soon and give some updates.

Congratulations! Happy birthday Desmond!

Your babe is bigger at 33 weeks than my DS was when he was born at 38 weeks ( he was 5 lb 6 oz) - you must have had a Super-Placenta! So glad he's doing well!

I dont know if you have any preemie clothes, or how you feel about Walmart, but Walmart has really cute preemie size clothes for 3-7 lbs, for not much money. I had to send my mom and DH out on a mission after my csection with DS for clothes, cus we had nothing that would fit him at all, and we found everything at Walmart - including preemie sposies, since all our cloth was too big!
