Did you ever feel like you made a mistake, were feeling so bad that you were ready to cut your losses and go home even though the sitution at home was worse because at least here you have a steady job and home. If you leave your starting over.

It's a perfectly normal feeling to have. We are in the situation right now, where we have gone through the immigration process for Canada (paid a lot of money, spent a lot of time in paperwork) and are asking ourselves if we've made the right decision because moving will cost us almost 5000 EUR, plus dh has to find a job, plus we're also 'starting over'.
But we're not happy here in Germany either, and don't see a future here.
Can I ask why you think you've made a mistake?

Ok.... You asked for it
We have few little family here..only FIL and MIL and no friends. We are struggling to speak the language the church/business circle that my FIL is running although they have embraced us we are not part of the group because we do not attend church. My husband was brought over to partner up with FIL's partner's daughter and son-in-law but for whatever reason there is not really much a a partnership between the two. We have been overlook and watched the other partner be more of a business partner in the companies while my husband is more of a manager when he is suspose to be an equal. It's just a lot of little petty things but they add up and have us wondering is there really a future for us here or will we watch this other kid take over when FIL retires, and if so they why did he bring us all the way over here. So we are confused and a little angry and it is making everything else harder. We came here thinking when FIL retired we would take over but it does not look that is what is happening... So that is why we are thinking maybe we don't belong here..Why are we here? We did not move all the way across the world to make rougly the same amount of money and for dh to be working for someone else.

Yikes.
Have you taken a 'vacation' to the US to check out how things might look for you if you decided to move back?
(We can't even afford to do this...Trans-atlantic airfares are really expensive so I understand if it's not an option.
Have you considered staying in Europe, but leaving Romania? Germany has a lot of opportunities for Americans and their rules for work permits are a bit different than other EU countries...depending on what you and your dh do for a job, there may be some opportunities in Scandinavia, Finland...
