Well, I'm sure I should just stop obsessing, but I took another pg test this am there was no line! NOw, I took it at about 5:15am and then went and laid down and fell asleep so I didn't actually look at the test till about 7:30am. So I should just take another one, right? I got 3 BFPs last Friday/Sunday, although very faint lines. This is driving me nuts. I just want a nice dark line, saying "yes, you are pregnant." The only reason I even took this one is because DP thinks that the faint lines don't count. Even though I assured him that they do.

I guess I just need to quit worrying and take things as they come.

Are you using different brands of tests? The sensitivity can vary.

The first three were dollar store tests, this last one was kroger brand, like an EPT test. Does that really matter?

My $ Store tests were super faint, even the day after AF was supposed to show. I used a +/- Rite Aid store brand and it was MUCH darker.

I'm not sure? I am thinking about you - maybe try a different brand entirely than the ones you have? I used the digital ept one and it just says it straight out "pregant". That was perfect. :)

I thought about the digital, but at $15-DP would kill me. Maybe I will just wait a few days and try the $store one again. Right now I would be about 20 dpo.

FWIW, I never did get a "pregnant" with a digital test.

And they're both upstairs napping :)

$ store tests have sensitivity of 25, not sure about kroger. So it could be that kroger is higher and that is why you haven't gotten a line with it.

Well at 20dpo the Kroger should be ok to test with. The $ store brand didn't do it for me - the digital, blood test and +/- Rite aid brand were all way more clear than the cheapy $ Store brand. I was kinda disappointed - but I did get a line that was obvious at 15dpo... but still, the others showed much sooner than the $ Store ones did. I'd heard all these great raves about them - but maybe like the digital it just depends on the person? Weird!

Sara, I'd wait a few days and test with a FRER. I think you can get just one for around $10, and it's worth it because IMO they are the best.

{{hugs}} to you
sometimes these days people get those early positives that end up not being true pregnancies, when not that long ago they would never have known
I'm not saying that's what will happen with you, but it's happened to so many people I know.

good luck to you

There is a really informative and cool website with lots of info about pg tests, but for the life of me, I can't remember the addy. I tried googling pregnancy tests and couldn't find the site, but I'm sure someone here can remember the name of it.

If it's peeonastick.com I've already been there!

Yeah, peeonastick is the best website I've seen for looking at pregnancy test stats. She's incredibly thorough. And like pp's have mentioned, it could be a sensitivity issue or it could be a chemical pregnancy. There's really no way to tell unless you had an HCG done (which would definitively say one way or another yes or no). The only other thing you can do is wait (unfortunately).

FWIW, I adore FRER tests. They are what I've used both times to confirm (after using various shady tests like $ store, which I've heard awful things about, especially where light lines are concerned). :hug I hope things work out and it's just a bad test.

I have to back the digital- nice and clear, no questioning! I had a very faint line the day before that disappeared in 30 seconds, but the next day I used the digital and got a very clear and quick "Pregnant!"

Well, I took one of those FRER tests and it was negative. :crying

I'll keep you all posted on what happens.

oh yeah, I got my first BFP on a Dollar Tree test. But it was a light line, and the FRER I took after with SMU was relatively dark (this was 10 dpo). The day before, at 9 dpo, I had two "evaps" with the Dollar Tree tests, which friends told me were not real evaps but which appeared hours after peeing on them. I took 2 because it was the two different brands that are sold in the same box, and actually I was trying to get photos of evaps for peeonastick.com :lol Anyway, I think the Dollar Tree tests are okay and good because they're cheap, but the quality might vary from test to test and they certainly aren't as good as FRER (my favorite of all).

Sara, so sorry that yours was a negative. I hope you have a solid answer soon, and that you have luck in the future {{hugs}}
