We've got 4 (though the rooster won't be with us much longer). I'm NAK now, but I'd love to chat about all things chicken. :p Right now I'm working on finding a source for organic feed, and coop design.

The limit is three hens per household. Which is why our rooster will be going soon, as soon as he starts to crow! You do have to have permission of the immediate neighbors, which, as you can guess, wasn't a problem. :D
