Looks like there may be a handful of us with toddlers around the same age. My DS is 14 months, born 7/28/06. 22-23 months seems like pretty good spacing! (Although I was watching a 2-year-old and a 4 month old yesterday in addition to my son, and I got a little freaked out and thought, "WHY do I want another one? Am I insane? :lol)

Mine is a bit younger than that. My youngest is only 8 months - so that will make #4 and #5 about 17 months apart! My 2nd and 3rd and also 17 months apart so I know what I am in for....
2 and 3 are both girls and are REALLY close. It is very sweet. They really are best friends.
I am hoping that this baby will be a boy (since #4 is) and I can somehow magically recreate that closeness again....

DS #2 is now 16 1/2 mos. and he is 20 1/2 mos. apart from his brother and they are great playmates. He will be 24 mos. apart from the new baby, which is a good space too.

I have a 14m old (turned 14m yesterday)! :)
Wild spacing if you ask me... though I am sure it's better than barely 18m, that one was *hard* for me...

My son is nearly 17 months old but baby#2's EDD is 10 days after his was (DS's EDD was 6/2/06 and birthday was 5/26/06. This kid's EDD is 6/12/08).
I think anywhere from 20-30 months apart is PERFECT!

my DD is 14 months (8/3/06) and it honestly worries me how she'll handle a new baby....my friend had her 2 month old over yesterday and August was scared of him I think :lol We put her on the couch with the baby in her lap and she looked at him like she just ate a lemon and pulled her hands away like "I am NOT touching that thing mom!"
Shes also high needs/spirited, nurses often through the night, etc.....
eek!!
I just keep telling myself "it will work, it will be ok...."
:lol

My youngest is 18mo.
And yes, I question why we're insane quite frequently. :wink

DD will turn 9 months old in a couple weeks, so our little ones are going to be close! This must be part of someone's "master plan" for our family, because we can't figure out how in the world we managed to get pregnant this time:lol ok, we know how, it's just that we were trying not to...and didn't think we made any mistakes. Oh well, life is an adventure! Best of luck to all of us:p

I think the most important thing is to let the older child know that there are special things that "big boys" (or girls) get to do that babies don't. Make sure you have special time with him every day. Have a "date" without the baby. I think telling kids "I know you'll feel jealous because I have to split my time now" is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Don't even go there!

Pah! 8 months :p My first was 6 mos. when we concieved. TOP that! :lol
I'm thrilled that my youngest here will be nearly three when the baby comes this time. *whew*:o
There was a woman in the 02/07 DDC with me whose dd was only 3 weeks old when she conceived again. I don't think I would have let DH near me 3 weeks post partum but that's just me. :lol
Mama2Be - were you in that DDC as well. Your user name looks familiar...

My DD is 17 months old born April 28 2006. She'll be 2 years and 2 months when the new baby comes. I hope and pray this baby is like my DD. My DD was super easy going and still is. I'm nervous about being a mom again...

DS is an April 06 baby. I see there are a few of us around that age. I think the spacing will be perfect. If I ever get through feeling like I am going to barf every second.

My DD is just shy of 14 mos. She was born 9/5. This prenancy wasn't planned at all, so I personally am flipping out about the spacing! I was hoping to have them about 2.5 to 3y apart. :lol

My DS turned 14 mos on Wednesday! I think the spacing will be alright... a little busy, but good. I am a preschool teacher so a June baby is perfect for us. We had planned this pregnancy, hoping it would be due in June and it worked!
DS isn't walking yet, so he's not quite into "everything" although he comes close! It will be interesting to have a curious toddler and a newborn next summer. Exciting!

WoW! looks like lots of us have toddlers around the same age :D
My DD will be 17months this week (5/25/06) and I too am worried about how she will interact with the new baby. Her last encounter with a small baby ended with a weebble person to the head, but it was more over enthusiasm than intended blunt force trama :o I can see my DD being the kind of sister that tries to pick up the newborn when I turn my head away. I'm trying not to think about that right now though, I'm focussing on slowing down the night nursing and trying to fix our sleep situation. We just moved a twin bed next to our bed to "transition" her to, but most nights DH ends up sleeping there :lol this is going to be a long process.

My daughter was born August 6, 2006. My next one will be here this summer.
My older two (ages 8 and 6) are 2 years and nine months apart and I wish they were closer. It would make it easier with homeschooling and such. Plus the six year old (he just turned six) gets so upset when the eight year old wants time to himself. I am glad they have each other, which is why we were trying for this one.

My little guy's a bit older... 22 months, which means he'll be 2.5 when this baby arrives. He just recently nightweaned (like last week!) and the timing couldn't have been better! I haven't been feeling super exhausted yet, but I did last time around so I'm thankful I'll be sleeping nights again.

DS is almost 13 months old. He still nurses to sleep and nurses 2-3x a night. I just started reading Hilary Flowers Tandem Nursing Book and am trying to prepare myself!
