My little guy (15 months) is in the process of getting six new teeth - four molars. Two weeks ago he had a low grade fever at night a few times. After normal temperatures for about 10 days, last night his temp topped out at 104.2 F. He's been running a low grade temp all day today. So far, I haven't treated him, other than trying to get him to rest and letting him nurse as much as he wants - which is nearly constantly! Should I be worried? Is this temperatue caused by teething or maybe something else?

mollyras,

I was searching for some fever discussion as my own son has a fever and I came across your thread. HOw is your son doing?

That was so high. I would have thought it was a bit high for teething...but am wondering how he is and what it turned out to be.

hope he is feeling much better.

Hi Mollyras and Tracy:

I know it was a while ago that you posted about fevers and teething, I just wondered if that's what your fevers turned out to be? My 7 mo. old DS had a fever of 102.6 on Saturday with a little bit of a runny nose, lots and lots of drooling. He also refused to nurse. He would go to latch on and then right as he touched the breast he would startle back and start crying (maybe, like, "ouch"). At first we thought he had a virus with a sore throat but he has been going through bottles of bm incredibly fast, so we're thinking that that may be because it requires less suction to get milk out of a bottle. He's also refusing solids except for (preferably cold) fruit purees. Sound like teething? I see no white bumps on the gums, but I've heard that's not necessary.

Anyway, thanks for any identification/help/advice anyone can give.
