the best place to start is online. there's lots of websites out ther for adoption: adoption.com is one off the top of my head. adoptiontoday and adoptive families are both magazines that might have websites as well. there are books you can check into that go over all sorts of different adoptions.
what we did was find a couple local agencies and attended their free seminars for people interested in adopting. they can give you all sorts of information and you can ask questions. i think there might be a minimum age for people adopting from china. It used to be 30-something but I know they've changed it in recent years.
our ds is adopted from Korea and it was an awesome experience that we never even considered til we attended a free seminar presented by an agency. there's lots of stuff out there to read up on -- have fun! and while we didn't adopt from china, i always love talking to other families about adoption, so feel free to email or pm me.

Hi!
I am in the same position you are in--too young to adopt from China right now but trying to learn all that I can.
The first website I would go to is http://www.fwcc.org/welcome.html
It is the Families With Children from China website and has information for every stage and many links. It is (obviously) China-specific, so if you have other adoption questions i would just type 'international adoption' into a search engine.
And FYI--the age minimum for China is now 30. You might already know all this--sorry if you do.
Hope this helps.

Try the apc yahoo group.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/a-parents-china
It's a large group and always has the most up to date info.

I've adopted twice from China and would second the recommendations for www.fwcc.org and the yahoo group Dakota's mom mentioned. The latter has a very high volume, so you might want to either read on the web or get the digest version if you don't want 10 million e-mails a day. Families with Children from China has local groups, and people who are still in the decision stage are often welcome to attend functions in most local groups. It's a great way to meet people and see for yourself how families are doing, and also to get information about what your local homestudy options are.
I also agree, free agency seminars are good for background info, but don't sign with an agency until you've researched it very well. Most agencies are fine, but some are not.
Best of luck!!!
Heather, you took the words right out of my mouth!:LOL
Dh and I have talked about this since...forever! we have three children (and are currently ttc) but we would love to adopt from china in the future! I did find a good website with lots of info, i will look for you :D
I would be so interested to talk to anyone who has done this.

I joined the suggested yahoo group about 6 weeks ago, and I've gotten some really valuable information there. We're in the planning stage for adoption #2, and I think we're headed to China. Good Luck in your search.
