So since just moving to Az a month ago and still not being employeed yet I have to get medicaid...ok thats fine with me I have done it with two other pregnancies..BUT I can not stand it when I walk into that office and if I dont look like Im living in a dumpster then I get glares and treated rude. Now, I dont mind that I have to wait and have patience cause I mean Im trying to get insurance for free so Ill wait, but to be judge cause I like to look nice is just uncalled for. I guess its what I have to deal with so my butter bean and I can get medical care. Also I cant even get to see a dr til the accept me which is ten days. Just frustrating.:irked:

People can be really judgmental. But that's what our social services are for--for people who need them, to use them. Don't pay attention to it (not that it's easy to ignore).

I'm sorry you have to deal with that. People are really judgemental. It makes them feel better about themselves. Try not to let it bother you (though I would be really angry as well). I hope the process goes quickly for you.

You're not alone, I need to get set up with Medicaid too. My husband could concievably get insurance for us through his employer, but it would amount to about 20% of his paycheck and there's no way we could live on what was left. :irked:

I am planning on going and getting that done tomorrow. I have applied in the past and I always dread the welfare office.

Plus, most insurance companies see pregnancies as a preexisting condition.
Is there anyway you can just send (by mail or fax) your information in?

(((hugs))) i need to go do this also. i need to go to the dr first to "confirm the pregnancy" before i can apply. so not looking forward to it. all the forms and such can just be mailed in though, so i don't have to actually go into the office.
i'm hoping to not need it too much and just pay out of pocket for a hbmw, but i need to have something there just in case something should happen. seems like such a bother though. i've had to deal with the rudest case workers in the past, and i'm just not up to that. ugh.

*hugs*
It was the same when I was in there. Although, I really couldn't help but judge a little when I saw the moms come in with their razr phones and ipods ;) I know, I'm bad.
