My 4yo ds had his first dental exam and cleaning yesterday. I wasn't there, dh took him. I guess he did really well. Dh prepped him and told him he'd have to sit still in a chair for a long time, etc., and that he'd get a prize when he was finished. He sat there and did great the whole time, then they told him he could go pick out a prize. He sorted through the basket of toys and declared "no thanks, I don't see anything I like". Not upset or anything, just didn't want anything. I guess they've never had that happen before because they kept trying to get him to take something. Finally dh and ds started to leave and the receptionist ran after him with a tube of sparkley Crest and said "Here's some glitter toothpaste!" Ds obliged and took it from her then proceeded to hurl it across the parking lot, screaming "I want something more natural!!!" I'm not proud of his behavior but can't help but laugh.:rolleyes:
