Hi, My SIL who lives in Wexford is due in Feb. She will be birthing at the Rotunda in Dublin since she is 44 and having a baby concieved via IVF. She is scared to death of having a c-section since she has been told she will only be allowed to go for 2 hours once she reaches 10 cms. Her drs will induce since she is IFV and they are so sure of the conception date :irked::rolleyes
(I won't go there).
She would like to hire a doula to advocate for her. Can anyone point me towards a Doula or an organization that can help find a doula in Ireland?

PM me or respond to this thread, I will keep looking!
Cheers,
Isabel

Hi Isobel,

There's a great maternity hospital in Wexford ! Treking to Dublin in labour isn't going to be fun....

I have a feeling I know her doctor well.....IVF = cesarean in most cases....despite knowing that a cesarean will impact future fertility too...

A doula can't advocate for her but can help her explore her options to give herself the best chance of a normal birth. The Rotunda only allows one birth partner and no swapping out so mum would have to choose between her doula and partner unfortunately....

Hope she's had her baby by now and all went really well for her !
