I have seen some darling Waldorf doll pictures - and, admittedly, I actually have no clue how big they are...but...DD is adoring my other DD's Bitty Baby Twins lately and I got to thinking - surely there is some way to make an all-cloth (Waldorf) doll the same size as these dolls, right?

I mean - their arms and legs and head are plastic, their hair is probably plastic - they're just so - unnatural.

I'd LOVE to find a Waldorf doll filled with wool or 100% cotton - and have wooly yarn hair or whatever it is that Waldorf Dolls have :D With those sweet chubby pink cheeks that so many of them have!!!

But - would it cost a fortune to have something like this made?

Yes :LOL

The good news is - Waldorf dolls are quite easy to make (The reason they're expensive is materials costs & they are time-consuming to make). I would suggest looking for a DIY kit of some sort. I've only used Magic Cabin's kits way back when, and they were good, but I'm sure you could find a good kit at any number of WAHM Waldorf sites.

MagicCabindolls.com has a pattern (and sells supplies) to make a jointed 20 inch baby doll (sort of like the dolls you are describing). Weirdolls.com also sells patterns and materials. They also sell presewn bodies and heads so you can just add hair/face/clothing.

HTH's!
