I've been having a chaffing/itching problem down there for about 2 weeks. I thought at first it was just too tight undies so I bought some bigger sizes. When that still didn't help I started really focusing on drying off uber well after my shower and keeping clean during bathroom breaks. Still no help. I still didn't think it was too bad because I was just itchy, but DH looked at it last night and it's this big splotchy rash in the creases of my thighs and groin. Thats the only place it is and it hasn't spread to any other areas. I placed a call to my midwife today, but we'll see when she can get back to me (they had a lady in labor yesterday.) I just don't know what to do in the mean time to make the itch be gone!!:dizzy::(

ouch! might be yeast...my fat dd #2 used to get yeasties in her leg folds when she was an infant! not to say that you're fat, but all pregnant mamas are definitely workin' it in the crotch area, iykwim!!! :lol
if it is yeast, should be easy to clear up...definitely not lovin' the itch, though! :gloomy:

Haha definitely am on the fat train here :) I think it might be a combination of a few things. DH uses this medicated powder to keep his area dry and fresh. I think I might be allergic to it (share a towel that has the powder or have sex while he has the powder on) It doesn't bother any other areas, but then again its some pretty tender flesh down there! I also think my efforts at "fixing" the problem might have made it worse (using corn starch to keep dry in those specific places, baby wipes (unscented) after potty breaks) Plus I was in dry dry colorado when pregnant with my first and now I'm in hot humid florida. I pray it will clear up soon, but I'm tempted to try some ACV and/or TTO to see if it is fungal in nature.

It's hard to say without seeing it, but as a nurse I take care of lots of patients with yeast infection and it sounds like yeast. We use nystatin powder or cream in the hospital & it clears it up fast. I don't know if you can get it over the counter but your local pharmacist should be able to help if you ask for a topical anti-fungal cream. If he asks more, which he shouldn't, blame it on your husband by saying "He's got the worst case of jock itch I've ever seen". :lolI had something something similar before and treated it with "tough acting tinactin".

Midwife says it sounds like yeast and told me to go get some acidophilus. Now I just have to have the money to buy it :dizzy:

You could just apply a yogurt compress a few times a day and see if that helps. It's a cheap alternative to acidophilous if money's tight. Good luck getting the yeastie beasties under control!

So I got a mirror and got a good look at it (big ole belly gets in the way hahahahaha) and realized this is the same thing my husband had like a month ago that we had no idea at the time what it was. Now I know it's jock itch (similar to the yeast infection without the internal problems) So I have my acidophilus and some Lotrimin because I can't handle the itching anymore!!! Pray this helps before I scratch my girl bits off!!!
