Its the count down to the big turkey day... I Know I'm cleaning/cooking orgnizing, etc starting this morning until the feast.

What's your game plan? What are you tackling so the house is ready for your guests, etc .

Today I only have to go out to the P.O.
otherwise, I have to clean kitchen, deep clean bathrooms, make sure we have enough clean towels/sheets for overnight guests, get box of food delivered, borrow a vacuum from neighbor and vacuum, (mines broken), clean up the dogs mess in the yard, and take recycling to the center.
Also might start a little baking of treats for thanksgiving dessert today.
oy, thats alot.
How about you? And how do you plan to help yourself accomplish it?

mmm...I'm so jealous of you. I could go for a second turkey-day right about now.

This is one advantage of being an American married to a Canadian . . . 2 turkey days for us! :lol

I don't have to do any preparations feast-wise as we're traveling down to the States to my mom's for the holiday; she has all the food taken care of. Oh, wait, I was informed that we are responsible for providing soda for all the adults over the weekend. :lol However, I do have oodles of cleaning and packing to do before we leave tomorrow afternoon (and here I sit on the computer :dizzy: :lol). So today will be spent sweeping and mopping the floors upstairs, folding laundry and laying out clothes to be packed. Should also get out into the yard and put away the toys, cover up the sandbox, etc, in case it snows while we're gone. Also need to call the neighbor and see if she can watch the house for us.

I am soooooooooo excited to go "home!" This will more than likely be our last time down there until after the baby arrives and we head down for my 10 yr HS reunion in June.

ok, just got home from P.O., food box pick up and recycling. Now I'm off to clean up the poo and the trash our dog tore up in the yard before it starts getting dark. Ugh! Most of the day is gone already.

wow, canadians have turkey day? But, why?

I've got it easy. We are going to my parents' for Thanksgiving. They are about a 5-10 minute drive away.

Usually I am charged with making all the deserts. (We don't eat sugar or refined grains, so it is easiest if I make our versions of everything -- and nobody else knows the difference.) This year my mom told me not to bring anything. (I just had my first baby 3 months ago, and he is very high needs.) I insisted, so she said I can bring an apple pie. She already made a pumpkin pie and a pecan pie (fitting with our diet).

My mother is really spectacular about catering to our diet. It is a long list. She is a superb cook, and in fact more like a food artist. She seems to enjoy the challenge of working around diet restrictions.
