We have our boy name picked out but are having trouble w/girl names. Here's my dilemma: My dh is from Morocco and we're trying to find a name that honors his heritage but that our child will feel comfortable with being American by birth...Most Moroccan girl names end in "a".

What are some good girl names that don't end in "a"? I'm looking for names that don't start w/H, R, N, Or S.

Side question: Our two girls both have names that end in "a". Should we name a 3rd girl a name that ends w/ a so they go together or will it only becoming annoying and confusing e.g. I already mix up the 2 I have!

Have you looked at this site? http://www.ummah.net/family/fem.html. Lots of cool names including many that don't end in -a... Just from the first letter, I think Aini is really pretty...or LuLu (who knew it meant "pearls"?!).

I'd definitely follow your instinct and avoid another -a name. Just my personal feeling. Good luck!

Aini? I'm afraid that would rhyme with heiny! :lol
Seriously, though thanks for the link. Unfortunately, I am not enjoying the name game this time around....

:)

I guess in my head it was "Ain-ey" (ie, rhymes with, erm, rainy). Though obviously the "heiny" pronunciation is more in line with the Arabic.

Let us know what you find out/decide!
