Been sick all week and I finally went to a clinic when I just wasn't getting better...
So I have strep throat. I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand I can take antibiotics and finally get better. But on the other hand I really don't want to have to take antibiotics for such a tiny baby. I'm in between 5 and 6 weeks. If was just viral, then chicken soup would be the Rx. I will take the antibiotics, because I've got two little people counting on me, not to mention I have to get better soon!
Sigh.

I know that I have taken the Hylands Sore Throat homeopathics and lots of TLC. Sorry! That is so tough! Hope you feel better soon!

I was unaware that homeopathy worked well on bacterial infections. Bruises sure, but strep?
I could let it run its course certainly, though then I run the risk of developing rheumatic fever which would be very serious. In addition, my body has been trying to fight it off for a week without success... and I've been getting sicker and sicker.
Heck, I'm up at almost 5 am because I can't sleep due to the chills and raw throat.
In my mind there really isn't a great solution for this. :(

Well I was a poor college student and the time and it was all I could afford. I don't know if it is the best for a preggo mom with a kiddo running around. I would def. do chicken soup, tea, sleep, and if you are dealing with flu symptons I do believe that the oscillococcinum by Boiron is the best stuff you can take. Slippery elm tea also is great for your sore throat and I would gargle salt. I know being preggo that you might struggle with the gargle, but it will help. A little homemade cough syrup is good too. Oh, my natropath does a tea of hot water, grated ginger, lemon, honey and a dash of cayenne. That stuff will burn out the bad in ya. Hope you feel better soon!

Rocking,
I'm so sorry you're sick!
I just want to let you know that you're not the only one having to do antibiotics. I'm on a broad-band anti until MARCH. I understand that it's hard, but I hope you get better soon.

Ahh, thanks guys. I am feeling much better now. I still have a lingering head cold, but the strep is on the run. I do appreciate all your suggestions. Tried some of them :thumb
ooh, PrayinFor12, sorry to hear that you're stuck on antibiotics till March. But when you need them, it's good that they are available. Hope that you are alright as well...
Again thanks everyone!
