What kinds of things (be it mainstream vs more natural) aren't in your home, OR what things would we be surprised to find in your home if we made a visit. I thought this would be neat (and would give me ideas too ;) ), oh, and since I just started posting here, I'm sorry if a similar thread has been done. :o :D

Won't find-toxic cleaning products (not to say toxic chems, b/c if either ds swallowed some of my eo's, I'd be a freakin out!), hormone injected foods, products that have been tested on animals, disposable products such as paper towels, diapers, plates, napkins, or feminine products, makeup, arosol spray cans, hair styling products, otc medicines, antibacterial soaps

Will find: You'd see plenty of plastic. That's my biggie that I'm always trying to eliminate. You'd also see regular toilet paper and meat to eat and wool diaper covers and leather shoes. You'd find real sugar too.

Ok, this was funny to do for myself b/c I really had to think! Um, I think I'm a chemophobic, recycling, respecting of but not enough not eat em/use em animal lover who indulges in certain mainstream practices but still prefers a more natural alternative in most cases. :LOL Anyone else care to share.........

Let's see, at our house you won't find:
Disposable paper plates, napkins, cups, femimine products, junk food (OK, maybe a little hidden from the kids :D ), non 100% fruit juices, recyclable items in the trash, white bread, fabric softener, characters on everything, and kids stuck in front of the television.

Things you will find: a drying rack with diapers on it constantly, plastic toys (where do they all come from???), a pile of cloth napkins and dish towels on the kitchen floor b/c we're freakin' lazy to take them downstairs to the laundry room everytime, dog hair on everything , a healthy selection of beers in the fridge :drink , some OTC medications, regular old Sam's brand of dishwasher detergent, Ice Breakers chewing gum (what can I say-I love the stuff).

Looking forward to eveyone's anwers...

Okay, you would find cloth "tp" (shell wipes made by Hidden Pearl Creations), a huge supply of cloth menstrual pads, cloth napkins in the kitchen, cloth towels for wiping up in the kitchen, unbleached coffee filters (we are planning to get the reusable hemp ones), all natural botanical based cleaning products/ laundry products, garbage bags made from recycled plastic, three paper bins of things to be recycled (I don't hide these), cloth reuable grocery bags--all different sizes, homepathic kits, herbal medicines, flower essences, essential oils, an air purifier, lots of organic food, lots of cloth diapers, The Green Guide (Co-op America), cruelty-free, botanical based soaps, shampoo, body care, toothpaste etc,lots of Waldorf toy catalogs, hanna catalogs, organic cotton clothic, wool clothing, wooden toys, a wooden drying rack which I love and consider a household essential.....

What you would definately NOT find: disposable diapers, tampons, grocery store brands like Tide, Dawn & other Proctor & Gamble cleaning & laundry products, chlorine bleach, ammonia, anything containing lye or Lysol products, cable or satellite TV, Media based toys or clothing for the children, Disney products, products purchased at Wal-Mart, Kraft or Nestle products, store brand shampoos, soaps, toothpaste etc., aerosols...

You may be surprised to find a single roll of toilet paper (for guest use), a small back up supply of non-gel filled disp. feminine pads, an occasional roll of paper towels, way too many mail order catalogs (Victoria Secret, Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel :rolleyes: etc.-- well I have to have some vices!!!), scrubby sponges I buy in the grocery store, and re-use until they fall apart, synthetic carpeting (I really do not like this at all), a tv (but it is broken and dh won't get rid of it), some of the children's clothes is purchased at the mall--Gap, Gymboree etc--another "weakness" of mine, and hair color, that's right now you know our secret, dh & I both color our hair with very nasty stuff purchased at the mainstream pharmacy or grocery store!!!!:jaw
