I found an something interesting on consuming raw dairy while pregnant... http://www.honesthuman.com/?p=165. Just thought I'd share with the other 'raw' families or those curious about the same. :thumb

I'm not a raw mama per se but have been enjoying raw grass-fed Jersey milk for the past year and a half from a farm that's been in business over 60 years where the farm family drinks their cow's raw milk too. I'm almost 6 weeks preggo and do not plan to stop enjoying one of the healthiest things in my diet during this pregnancy. My 4 yr old loves the raw milk too. I have seen a great improvement in his ability to bounce back from colds and other bugs he picks up at daycare. He was constantly sick before we started raw milk. I wouldn't drink just any raw milk though. The factory farmed milk that ends up pasteurized and in grocery stores could come from dirty/sick cows. That kind of milk I would definitely not drink raw.

Real Milk (http://www.realmilk.com/) - download the power point presentation for safety info and info on nutrient levels of raw milk vs stored bought milk. People are twice as likely to become ill from fruits, veggies, and meat than they are from raw milk. Also, looking at the CDC's own numbers, it appears pasteurized milk has sickened far more people over the years than raw milk has, even when you take into considered far fewer people drink raw milk. I :love RAW MILK!!! :)

Sorry if this is a very dumb question, but I live in Brooklyn,NY, and shop in regular supermarkets. Where should I look for raw milk if I want to start drinking it?
THanks!

If you can't find anywhere near you on the list, start searching for yahoo groups that are for raw dairy and your state or a neighboring state. Many times, people are forced to go underground to obtain raw milk and to protect the farmers that supply them because if big brother finds out, they will make it very hard and very expensive for the farmer to continue his operation.
