This isn't really a "problem" per say, it's just ridiculous, and I'm wondering if it's something that 10 year old boys go through or if it's just him. I mean, he is incredibly strong for his age, and he does have a temper (this boy managed to slam a metal door on his pinky finger because "the door stubbed his toe" and cut the tip of his finger off :eyesroll).

I swear, he can't walk through the apartment without bumping on something, stubbing his toe, spilling something, throwing something on the ground, tripping and falling face first, and of course, he always manages to hurt himself in the process!

DH and I will be in the kitchen and SS will be doing his chores, and we'll hear "OW!", "darn it!", "AAaaah!" every 10 minutes or so. That boy is like a walking tornado :D

Is he going to outgrow this or what?

Is he going through a growth spurt? Could be that his body is changing enough so as to make it hard for him to gauge where his body parts really are.

DD and ds have gone through a couple of those spells. For my kiddos, they just needed time to adjust to their growth spurts :)

I don't think it's a growth spurt as much as it's that he's totall careless about everything. We're really fighting the carelessness battle right now, with everything from finishing all the milk in the morning before anyone else has had any, to barreling down the hall and slamming into the wall (and then swearing at the wall for being "stupid"... :duh

I hope it gets better before he grows so big that he'll really start breaking things!

Have his eyes been checked recently? And is he getting enough sleep?

I swear my almost 11 year old son tripped on a dog hair going out the door this morning. He laid himself out flat in the door jam, it was all I could do not to start giggling. Our dogs are short haired snorting beasts.

So no advice, but I sure am in the same shoes.
