I feel really awful and sick. My temp is 100.6. Does this warrant any tylenol or a call to the midwife?

No, over 102 would warrant a tylenol though. For some of us 100.6 would be normal temp in PG. :blush

I would use a cool cloth on the back of the neck if you want to lower your temp. Or a cool bath. But that temp is not dangerous. I hope you feel better soon.

I had a pretty bad flu last week. I'm not sure how high the fever was, but it was enough that I was absolutely freezing, shivering, :cold:, having bad body aches, so I took some tylenol.

You feel awful - I would treat the fever. I had a cold and ran a fever and agonized about taking the tylenol but felt so much better. How far along are you? I would certainly treat a almost 101 fever. Call your midwife and talk to her to feel better but I would not doubt about taking the tylenol. Just make sure you take the regular strength or one of the extra strength ones instead of two and make sure you are not taking too much. Fevers at 102 have been linked to birth defects and problems with the baby so really why risk it? Watch it at night as they tend to climb in the evening.

I'd call my midwife if there isn't a clear reason for the fever (if you don't have a cold or flu). Fever is the body's way of naturally fighting the infection- viruses can't thrive at high temps, so I would not try to lower it. If you feel bad, get in bed, try to rest, and use cool cloths on your head and neck.

Call your careprovider. But if you feel bad, tylenol is likely going to make you feel better and it is not harmful during the pregnancy. Fevers also should be monitored carefully during pregnancy as a high fever can harm the baby. Take care and I hope you feel better.

Personally,if I just had a cold & a low fever because of it & felt miserable, I wouldn't call my careprovider, but I would take Tylenol since I was feeling yucky. Sleep, stay hydrated & well nourished.
Hope you feel better soon mama!
