Is it possible to start feeling pregnancy symptoms before you even miss your first period? And from your experience, how early was your earliest sign?
I'm asking b/c DH and I just started ttc this month and for the past few evenings I've been getting that nauseated, sick to my stomach feeling that I got when I was pg w/DD. DH thinks its all in my head and that it's way too early for anything like that, but I'm just curious if anyone felt that they were pregnant before they were able to take the test to find out. (I still have another 5 days till my period is due).
Thanks.

A few days before I found out, I noticed a few days before I missed my period that I was way more tired than usual. I didn't feel nauseated till later, but every pregnancy is so different! With my son I had MAJOR mood swings days before my period was due. Anyway, with both, I noticed differences before period was due.

hi
i just posted about how soon can a test tell!!
i've been feeling SO tired, which was my only symptom with all three of my pregnancies; and now i've started to feel naseaus(just like you!)(and i still have... 5 days as well, to wait for my period!)
i only had "morning sickness" with my third, heard it was more common when preg with a girl cause of the hormones, and sure enough it was a girl(she's 2.5 now).
so i'm not ttc, but would be so happy with another;
if i am NOT pregnant, then i will be even more worried, because i like to think i know my body and the symptoms seem so accurate; what the heck else could it be??? i'll be going to my dr. at some point, either way.
i'll let you know next week wether i think you can tell right away!

there have been many months where i've thought , for sure i'm preggy, but nothing; theres always that element of surprise!
but i've never felt this sick, and tired...
with the first three i didnt know till after we missed the period though. except on the third i knew we had concieved first try sucsessfully, as planned, and was feeling tired before i missd my period.

good luck!

With my first pregnancy, I felt really fatigued. We were moving into a new house and it wasn't quite time for my period. I kept having to lie down, so I'd sneak into the closet for a little rest in between schlepping boxes upstairs. I couldn't figure out why I was so tired. I also had sore breasts, but I always had sore breasts right before I got my period, so I just thought it was related to that. We had been trying to get pregnant, but I figured it wouldn't happen the first month of trying. I kept thinking I was going to get my period, but at one point we went out to dinner and my nephew had a hamburger. He only ate half of it, and all of a sudden I just had to have the remainder. At that point I thought, "Well, maybe I AM pregnant." Then we were out shopping and I had to run to the bathroom. I felt the blood starting to come. Got to the bathroom, nope, must cervical mucus. At that point I knew I was pregnant, but the test didn't show positive until another day or two.

It's funny because I don't have any clear memory this time around. I should look back at the TTC forum and see if I posted anything about how I was feeling.

Oh, sore breasts. I stopped having premenstrual sore breasts after the last pregnancy. It was weird how it went away like that after having that symptom for so many years. This time I did get sore breasts, but they didn't show up until I knew I was pregnant for a couple of weeks.

Yes - with both of my previous pregnancies, I had a lot of lower abdomen achiness, that sort of thing. Typical pre-menstrual stuff, except I don't normally have premenstrual stuff when I'm not pregnant (I know - lucky me!).

With this pregnancy, however - nothing. In fact, nothing so much that I didn't test until my period was 2 weeks late (and I was 7 weeks pregnant at that point, as I'd ovulated early), I was THAT convinced I couldn't be pregnant! I actully tested a few days after I started feeling morning sickness (which generally shows up for me around 6-7 weeks).

So all pregnancies are different, but you can sometimes tell before you period is due. :)

Considering conception actually takes place around 2 weeks before missing the period in most women, and the body is flooded with hormones to keep that period from happening...yeah, those hormones have to kick in for you to miss your period, so it makes perfect sense that they'd start giving you other symptoms as well right away.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm trying not get too hopeful, but at the same time it's hard not to. I'll just have to wait and see...
