View Full Version : 38 weeks - labour has started

Hello all,

Well I've been having contractions since midnight. First feelings were cramping in my lower back and abdomen and contr. came in waves. From midnight to eight in the morning (sat.) they were 7 - 10 minutes apart lasting about 35 seconds. I could not sleep through them at all and was up until about 8:00 am and finally had a nap for an hour.

Once up from my nap, contractions slowed down to about 10 minutes apart. Layed down again a couple hours later and still no consistent contr. happening. Currently they're about 7 minutes apart.

So to say the least, I've had about 3.5 hours sleep total. I'm off to bed again for a while.

Midwives say to get all the sleep I can get at this stage and eat (she said this could last days or just hours).

My appetite has been pretty good. Just need some zzzzzzzzz's.

Well........things have slowed right down.

As of last night about midnight, contractions have virtually stopped. I get a few here and there and that's it.

I guess the baby wants to play the waiting game.

I'll let you know!

Well looks like I'm back on track.

Contractions started up again last night at about 7:00 pm. Managed to get some rest from 12:30 - 5:30 this morning and now my mucus plug is releasing.

Yeah! I hope I have this baby today.

Hi ladies,

I had my baby boy!! He was born Tuesday, Aug. 26 at 7:10 pm.

Contractions were about 5-7 min. apart for most of that day. Went to the chiropractor to see if she could do an adjustment to speed things up. Sure enough, left the chiropractor about 5:30 pm and contractions picked right up!

Had 10 minutes of pushing, got in the tub and baby Jordan was born. He is 8 lbs. 12 ounces, 21 3/4 inches long and just beautiful.

YAY!!! I'm so excited for you!!

(not that it matters but we were celbrating my sons 16 month mark on tuesday!!! So our little ones are exactly 1 months apart almost to the hour!!)

Yippee!!! That's so awesome!!! And what a GREAT idea to see the chiro during labor. I'll have to remember that this time!
