I'm having serious food aversions and protein is my biggest battle. I need some ideas (I don't do soy anything)...

Protein can be found in.....
Animal meat
Nuts
Nut butters
Eggs
Dairy products like cheese, milk, yogurt, cottage cheese
Fish and Seafood
Beans
Soy(beans)
Check with your care provider, but you can also add Protein Powder to smoothies, etc...

I like garbanzo bean patties, or bean balls (like meat balls, but without the meat), and lentils--I especially like dal. Tonight I had two garbanzo bean patties with tomatoes and pickles. Weird, but . . . whatever!

I use a lot of soy products, and I eat a lot of nuts, beans, and lentils. I also make protein shakes out of soy milk and soy protein powder-- and throw in a little ginger to help with the morning sickness!

I've been eating egg and cheese sandwiches which is odd because I'm not usually a fan of eggs. I've also been snacking on raw nuts. All I want is hot starch right now...and bland starch at that.

Oh that's great! During my last labor I had cheese snacks on hand because I figured I should have protein to hold me over.
Problem is I don't like cheese!
I will like avocados and bananas so much more!

I've been making fruit and yogurt smoothies with this great non-soy protein powder called The Supreme Meal by Peaceful Planet. Its protein comes from grains like quinoa, millet and amaranth. I think it has a good flavor too...also spirolina so it turns smoothies funny colors.:eat:

KB - during my last pregnancy - I was buying a roasted chicken a day, putting it in the fridge and eating cold chicken breast for breakfast!! This time, I want steak - and I am sooo not a red meat person!
Also, I'm continuing to work out with my personal trainer and so everyday I have a protein shake after my workout.
That, and eating lots of cheese too!

My favorite wake-up snack right now is a string cheese and an orange. It seems to be the perfect mix of protein and carbs to get me going w/o too much nausea.
My craving for Chick-fil-a is helping with the rest of the day's protein! I've eaten a Chick-fil-A sandwich at least once (and one time twice) every day for the last three days. :bag: :hide: I keep telling myself once I'm not going to the lab, doctor or pharmacy every day--which are all right by Chick-Fil-A, I'll be able to curb that craving. It's getting expensive, too!

I always like eggs for breakfast when I'm pregnant (I almost never eat them normally!) and I eat lots of cheese and yogurt. I usually have a sandwich for lunch, turkey or roast beef on whole wheat bread, or PBJ. I'm all about simple and nutritious.

I've been eating yogart and chicken quite a bit. Nothing else is sounding good right now. Normally I love soy and nuts. Last pregnancy I ate yougart with sunflower seeds mixed in quite often. We do eat quite a few avacado's around here too.

Another bean product - but I thought I'd mention hummus. Mmmm....no preparation, just dip your crackers...or spoon. :lol

I just thought I'd give some extra data, in case someone was relying heavily on bananas and avocados for protein.
A medium sized banana has 1 g of protein. One whole medium avocado has 3 g. Not a whole lot, but a bit.
