View Full Version : Could my cervix be THAT sensitive? (spotting)

DH and I started to *ahem* have "relations" this morning. He hadn't even penetrated all the way (barely, actually), when we were interrupted by our 4 yr old DD. (she woke up extra early today) So, we had to stop. I took care of DD's needs and then intended to go back to DH. Well, in the meantime, I ended up having to go to the bathroom. I don't think I was straining too hard, but when I wiped, there was a slight amount of spotting on the toilet paper. It wasn't very dark at all.

DH had been spooning me, so he was entering me from behind....would this have made my cervix in a lower position? I don't think we've even had sex since I found out I was PG last week. I just haven't felt up to it. But, perhaps my cervix has become really sensitive and any penetration at all is enough to cause spotting????

I'm not really totally concerned about this. I had spotting in my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies too when we were intimate. And, later on, my OB put me on restrictions. I guess all I can do is see if the spotting stops....last time I checked there wasn't anything on the TP.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Oh, the other weird thing is that I woke up with a pretty big wet spot in my undies. It was smaller all day yesterday, too. Its not really like mucous, but more just wet. I don't think I'm wetting my pants....but....I've had a little cough lately and perhaps its some incontinence????

Coulda been the penetration, coulda been going to the bathroom...I have had spotting a few times from going #2, even when purposely NOT straining. Last pregnancy it happened only once, but it happened probably 3-4 times during the pregnancy, and one or two of those times it was really red (but still resolved very quickly, just like you're describing). Funnily enough, I haven't spotted from having sex.

As for the wet undies, I think increased discharge is pretty common in pregnancy. Especially early pregnancy, at least for me...
