NH to approve MW assisted home births

I heard on the radio today (sorry can't site a specific reference other than it was the Keene station 103.7) and they said that NH was in the process of approving midwife asssited home births and requiring insurance companies to cover the expense! I'm in MA, but I still thought this was great to hear about!

Oh I miss NH! I grew up there and went to Keene State for college. Now I'm in NE and we don't even have a free standing birth center! I"m lucky I found some CNM's! I am going to tell all my female friends out there about this so they know they have some options! Thanks for posting!

Really that would be so cool. We are trying to decide right now on birth center (totally insurance covered) and homebirth (totally not covered). So you know when it is supposed to pass?

I wish I lived in NH. Even medicaid will pay a midwife, but down here in MA forget it. *sigh*
