Greetings!

I have the opportunity to travel to Maastricht from the US for 3 months for my work. This is a great opportunity and I would love to have the experience and share it with my husband and DD. We are lucky in that DH works for the same company and should be able to work from the office in Maastricht. DD can come with us, but we will need some childcare for her while we both work.

SO my question, I have heard childcare can be hard to come by, is this true? Of course it must be good care and not a "storage"-type situation. DD is 2.5 yo, active, curious, passionate, fascinating, I could go on!

I wanted to check with MDC'ers, since we most likely are looking for some similar qualities in a childcare environment.

We currently pay heartily for childcare ( and can stop paying while out of the country), so we have quite a lot in the budget for care.

The time line is start sometime in February (just found out about this opp. yesterday, so some details are fuzzy, like exact start date) and for about 3 months (no more than 90 days).

Any leads would be appreciated and we could bring you treats from Minnesota or Wisconsin.

Thank you!

You might try Expatica--I found it to be a fabulous resource when we moved to the Netherlands, and they have a forum on family issues with info on daycare.

ETA: maybe the company will help with arranging care? When my DH relocated for his job, we found we had to ask for help with everything but then they took care of it all. My understanding is that the Dutch figure you're fine unless you ask for help. :)
