Neti Pot users - I need your help!

I used my Neti for the first time last night, and it went really well. That is until I blew my nose and my right ear popped. I now know that blowing your nose too hard can cause that to happen, but honestly I didn't think I *was* blowing my nose that hard! Anyway; now there's a slight pressure around my right ear, almost like it has fluid in it. I read around on the internet and apparently this is nothing to worry about; something having to do with the water flowing over your eustachian tubes or something?

Has anyone had this happen, and when does it go away?! There's not pain, just a slight 'fullness'. Could it have something to do with the mucous beginning to clear out of my freaking head?

Worried here. Ear infections are my worst, worst nightmare.

I've only used my Neti pot 3 times so far but my ear did the same thing each time. Kinda popped when I blew my nose after the 'procedure'.

You really have to "drain" yourself well after using those. Have you seen the specific instructions? I remember seeing something about having to hang my head upside down for a little bit and blowing the nose a lot or something. I actually don't use mine that much because I feel that I can't "drain" properly.

I usually do mine in the shower so that I don't have to use tissue when I blow. I just kind of hang my head and exhale with a gentle force. The shower also loosens up the mucous really nicely, so there's an easier flow.
