Anyone in Mali? My husband and I are looking at teaching at an International School there and wondering what it is like. IT is hard to get a picture from the school's website. Any input is great!

Hello!
It's been 13 years since I was there, but I lived in Bamako for a year, and knew a bunch of people who worked at the school. I absolutely loved Mali; Malians are so friendly! And at that time my friends enjoyed working at the school. I realize this isn't very helpful, in that it was so long ago, but I just had to respond! My sister married a Malian, so I've still got ties there, and my DH and I dream of the day we can get back there.

I am currently living in Mali with my 10 month old and husband who is doing research for 9 months. We met here 10 years ago as Peace Corps Volunteers. Not sure what school you are talking about, but I can say that Bamako is a great place. Have you all lived in West Africa or the 3rd world before?

I know you posted this months ago, so perhaps you have moved on, but if you are still curious, let me know and I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Thanks for the few responses! We actually ended up accepting jobs in Sao Paulo, Brazil! Mali wasn't in the cards this time...but thanks for the input!
