View Full Version : What, if any are your pregnancy symptoms?

I've been slightly nauseous for a few days now.. it's what tipped me off to do a test actually. Eating often seems to help keep it at bay and not severe. I'm hoping it doesn't get bad this time like I've done with some of mine. Last time I was able to keep it not too bad by eating often and getting regular exercise, so I'm trying that approach again.
I'm also a little more tired than usual, but it's not bad.
Anyone else really "feeling" pregnant?

I am not feeling pregnant yet. I am peeing in the middle of the night and get sick feeling every once in a while.... but no, I don't feel "pregnant."

I'm peeing all the time, and quite often I just feel really hungry - like out of the blue, I need to eat NOW. Other than that, just tired but nothing really major. Oh, and my boobs HURT!!! I think that's the biggest symptom I have.
I'm only 4 weeks today, so I think it's too soon for me to be feeling anything more than this.

I have that superhuman sense of smell thing I always get. It's like I can smell *everything* in the whole house.
I couldn't finish my lunch. I was hungry but I could not make myself eat it. Not exactly nausea, but sort of revulsion at eating.
Some odd cravings, mostly for carbs.
When nursing my little one I've noticed my letdown feels more intense than normal.

I've felt a little shaky and light-headed today. But past experience tells me I won't get really sick until 6 or 7 weeks...then I'm out for the count until 14-18 weeks. Fun fun fun. I'm going to try a few different things this time though, with 3 little ones I simply can't check out of life for the next 4 months!

other than E nursing constantly, which is a little different lately, there isn't much...
i have had some cramping and hoping that doenst mean anything bad...my sense of smell is very acute. and my appetite has actually gone down. im trying my best to eat 3 meals a day which i dont normally do (usually only eat a brunch and dinner but eat ALOT). oh, and i have been feeling MORE energetic..strange!

I've had some extra energy in the last week too. I got a lot done this week, actually! I hope continues so I can get the house in shape before m/s sets in and everything goes to pot. :)
Cramping can just be your uterus stretching and accomodating. Hope it goes away soon!

This morning my husband made bacon and I really wanted to throw it outside. It just smelled gross.
I'm starving but the thought of eating makes me feel a little queasy. I did eat yesterday but I found I needed 6 small meals because I couldn't eat much at one time.
And ugh, when he cooked dinner tonight I thought I was going to die.

See, this is what makes me think this is the month. I've had that "superhuman" sense of smell w/ all my babes. Today we were out in the van and I just *knew* I smelled a wet bag w/ a dirty dipe in it. The kids all thought I was nuts, lol. Its too soon for me to test but I've definately had this sense of smell thing going on early each time I've been preggo.
Other than that I've been peeing A LOT...like more than my usual post-O pee habit.:D

I have felt pg since 2 days after O/conception ... my pants actually started to feel too tight before I got my BFP! I am quite a bit bigger already, which I just can't believe! Its got to be retained water or something b/c my uterus can't possibly be growing that fast, can it? I sure didn't feel that with the first one for quite a while. Any other 2nd time + moms feel like the belly is busting out? It makes me worry that I'll be showing before I'm ready to tell my job.
Also, I was so lucky not to ever have nausea or m/s last time, and now I already have felt queasy-ish (not too bad) and had some food/smell aversions even this early. Definitely better if I just eat a little like every hour.
Today's the first day I really felt the fatigue coming on - we'll see how the workweek goes next week.
Being abnormally weepy with that weird 'need to eat but have no appetite even though I normally eat enough for three adults, I'll just have a cracker thanks' feeling were my first clues.
In the past two days:
That almost-insomnia that seems to be unique to pregnancy.
Queasy feeling if I don't eat in regular intervals.
Queasy feeling when I DO eat, regular or not.
Crampy-stretchy feelings.
And the peeing. Ohgod. The peeing. Sigh.

I feel like I am having every symptom in the book, if I would have known it would be this way, I would have saved alot of money on PG tests in the last year:wink:
Insomnia
Very sore breasts ever since ovulation
A lot of CM after ovulation, lasting 7 days
Nausea
Lower ab cramping
Pink spotting on CD 9 with temp dip & rise on CD 10
High temps

I was a little nauseous but I'm not much anymore. The baby has switched on the exhaustion button though and I can't get enough sleep. I've also had a bit of cramping but that's pretty normal for me.

I'm honestly a little nervous. This is day 4 of queasiness for me. It's not horrible, but it is getting worse every day, and it is all day long. I've never been nervous about that before, but it is worse this time. Of course, I have a friend who has been having bad hyperenemesis (I'm probably spelling that WAY wrong), so now I'm nervous!

Isn't it funny how this early every day seems different? I haven't felt nauseous yet, but yesterday I just couldn't talk myself into eating anything until afternoon. I just drank milk and kombucha all day. I was also tired, but I feel better today. Which is good, lots to do to get ready to be sick! :) (how often do we get to "plan" for being sick? not often!)

Very sore boobies
BAD insomnia
Exhaustion
Mild nausea
Heightened sense of smell
Cervix turned upward
Irritable
BLOATED- in fact, I was determined to test positive when my pants would hardly button this morning. I wear my jeans snug so that usually happens right away.

Ok... my boobs have already gotten bigger and just ache all the time. Past few days I've been getting lightheaded easily, hungry more often, but nausea keeps creeping up. I can feel my uterus, it feels very heavy in there and I can feel "things" happening. And, I'm bloated. AF isn't even due for another couple days... sigh. With DS the morning sickness didn't hit heavily until right at 6 weeks, so hopefully I can make it that long this time without it.

I am like that too! Exhausted, but with insomnia. Maybe it is the prenatal vitamin in the evening that keeps me up? I have to take three a day. Otherwise, I'm having to pee all night long! It never hits me until the evening. Still, I'm delighted to be in this predicament!

My first "symptom" (clue, really) is in my sig. I've been checking my chart multiple times a day (why? it's not like it's going to spontaneously change :p) ever since it went triphasic. I've also been a little queasy here and there, and for the past three days have had some weird tummy thing going on. It doesn't feel like normal nausea, but I just feel BLECH and it only gets worse and I start really hurting unless I eat pretty regularly. My boobs have also had some sharp twinges here and there, but they don't actively hurt, and they certainly haven't gotten any bigger yet. :angry I'd like to completely fill out my B cup now, please.

the need to pee every hour
insomnia at about 0430 every morning for the past week
complete exhaustion
tender breasts
that hungry but too queasy to even think about food feeling
emotional- I almost broke down taking care of a new mama and babe at work the other night
crazy, intense mood swings
nausea- I had hyperemesis w/ DS3 so I'mkeeping my fingers crossed it won't be so bad this time

I haven't had too many symptoms. I had regular PMS symptoms, but when my expected menstrual days came and went, my symptoms went away. I HAD very mild cramping, sore breasts, fatigue - all the usual. Now I have nothing except slow digestion. I get full quickly, constipation, and indigestion w/ occasional reflux and burping. Even though I've been eating TONS of fiber, and drinking a lot of water, I am still constipated. My bowl movements haven't amounted to much. If I feel around in my breasts, I can feel some sore areas that I don't notice otherwise during the day. And, there's been a small increase in CM too. Occasionally I feel my uterus cramping a tiny bit, especially when I am doing some rather physical tasks. I have noticed, I think, that I do have more energy. Instead of sleeping in on the weekend, I get up pretty early. :sunshine My basal body temperature has been consistently elevated, but I haven't felt a difference of being warmer.
What is interesting is, I woke up on my day of ovulation knowing that it was imminent. I felt the hormones surging, and I just felt very feminine. I also felt pain on one side as if I actually felt the egg erupt from the ovary. The following day, I had an overwhelming sense of contentment. I knew I was pregnant. I even think I felt the fertilized egg implant, even though I read that the uterine wall cannot sense pain. :makebaby:
The day I tested, I was not surprised, even though I had all my regular PMS symptoms. But now, I feel that my sense of awareness is in the dark, not knowing or feeling what's going on in my body. I don't feel as if I have pregnancy hormones that are making me emotional. I feel very content and mellow.
I've been eating exceptionally well, to the best of my knowledge. Maybe that is what is causing my pregnancy symptoms to remain at bay.
The lack of symptoms was worrying me a bit, but now I realize that it is definitely not uncommon for women to have very little symptoms, or for symptoms to arrive later.
If anyone's interested, I started a blog last week in the "I'm Pregnant" category. I called it "When did you feel like you were really pregnant?"

Does round ligament pain come sooner second time around? Not there yet.
What tipped me off? Spotting mid cycle on one bathroom trip. I never spot mid cycle. And my nipples got really sensitive the day before that. Not the whole breast yet, just the nipples. Nursing my toddler is really uncomfortable. It's normal for me 2 or 3 days before my period, but after 2 weeks non stop I took a test. I took a picture because I couldn't quite believe it. There WERE 2 lines! Yay!!! Now I have the constant need to pee and the unexplainable moments of shortness of breath. I'm nervous, though. All day sickness kicked in at 6 wks with dd. That's only a few more days.

Anyone else have these? Do you know why they happen and how to remedy them? They were REALLY bad w/ No. 1.

For me, the only thing that took care of them was a liquid calcium/magnesium supplement and eating a banana every day (for the potassium).

We got a positive on a test yesterday, but I've been pretty sure I was pregnant for about a week and a half before that. I just had that "feeling". I was wondering why I was getting all these weird sharp pains when I moved too quickly, until I remembered being pregnant with dd and the ligament pain. That was what kind of tipped me off to being pregnant. Then I knew for sure that I had to test when I felt gaggy when chewing on the end of a pen cap. That never happens except for when I'm pregnant. I also have just a little soreness in my breasts, and the weirdest symptom (to me) is that I swear I can feel growing feelings in my lower abdomen. I get these funny growing, warm, almost butterfly-like feelings. It's really hard to describe, but I was really feeling it the night before I tested. And still get it on and off throughout the day.

I just got my BFP yesterday at 12 DPO. But already I've been having symptoms...
Really Tired
Peeing a lot, with that kind of "tight" feeling when I pee
Hypersensitively emotional
Horny!:wink
Hungry for things I don't normally go for...like fatty, high protein dishes....not so into my normal love for veggies...
Crampy (this one makes me sort of nervous, but I know it's normal this early one)
Last night first night of true pregnancy insomnia...from 3:30 on, just wired, happy, but now I'm sleepy and have a toddler to take care of!
I'm so thrilled to be pregnant!!!

Oh I'm not feeling good. After reading some of your replies though, I will try to remember that this is all because I'm making a BABY. My body is doing what its supposed to do. Now I wish that I'd be able to do what I'm supposed to do...like eat regularly. My smelling abilities are amazing and annoying. I can barely stand being in the kitchen nor the darn stinky litter box. And since I'm so tired my house has also become quite messy. Dh says I'm doing good because I'm not getting angry or depressed like I did with my 1st pregnancy. Anyways so helpful to say this and hear how you're all doing too. Maybe I can find some good scents to appreciate my smelling super powers!

I have to pee ALL THE TIME! I'm really thirsty too. I teach aerobics for a living and had to stop doing and just cue the class on Friday because my body was so worn out. I knew I was pg before I poas because my temp NEVER goes above 98 and it had been there for a couple days. Also, my BM's got more frequent and I was gassier and the smell changed. Very odd. Yesterday I had a tugging feeling in my lower abdomen that felt like someone was pulling on my uterus. That was a strange feeling! I cried on Thursday watching Full House reruns. :lol I also felt much more horny yesterday! My nipples are very tender and I normally don't have any feeling in them at all. That tenderness is just starting to spread to the rest of my breast, from the nipple outward.

Breast soreness - sometimes they're "achey" during PMS, but never does it out and out hurt to touch them!
Lightheadedness.
Hearing/smelling things (whether real or imagined) other people can't.
Mild cramps (twinges, more like).
Alternating between not being able to eat, and eating more than my husband and his two best friends combined.

Yeah, she said it is a good sign. Its more common in women who've been preggo a couple of times apparently.

Okay, does anybody else smell different "down there". I have heard that can happen later in pregnany but I swear it smells funny and so does my pee. That just started today. Anyone else????? Tell me I'm not alone!:o

Don't know if it means anything, but I just smell blank down there. Like, almost no odor at all, good or bad! My pee smells stronger but I think it's b/c of the vitamins. You can never tell!
Tara - the way you spelled "bewbies" made me LOL! You are a riot! :rotflmao

No, no, you're definitely not alone. I've already got the Pregnancy Funk going on - feet, 'pits, bits... you name it, it probably smells. Thankfully it's just earthy, and not a BAD smell.

I'm just a pinch funky myself. Course, I'll freely admit I'm too tired to do anything about it. :lol

Dads are usually the first to notice changes in the nither regions. I have dads tell me that at work all the time. I asked my dh if he noticed and he said, "yeah, I always notice you change down therewhen you're pregnant." Gee thanks for telling me that now...after 4 kids!!:D

LOL, I misunderstood what you wrote at first... I thought OTHER dads were telling you that you smell different down there! I thought, "that is some strong smell!" but I see you're a doula, so dads are telling you about their own wives. :lol

Is that why my feet suddenly stink???? I was wondering what in the world was going on! It's terrible, LOL
And I noticed first, before anything else, that my smell changed. It did with my first pregnancy, but later, and not like this. It's icky. But.. I'm too tired these days to care :lol I haven't started the milky white discharge that I had with my first pregnancy, and for months after I had him. Wonder when that will happen, to add to the wonderful goings-on down there.

Oh wow, I am soooooooooooo nauseated today. I couldn't stomach the thought of cooking so I ordered pizza for the kids. BARF. The smell in my house is soooo disgusting right now. All I want to do is crawl into a dark, not-stinky place and sleep.

LOL...too funny! Yup, I smell so funky that my patients dh's are telling me I smell down there, LOL and ewww!!:D
I'm actually a nurse now and hear that a ton at work from dads. The first guy I ever heard talk about it openly told me waaay more than I wanted or needed to know about his wife's funk. :o

The Tiredness hit me today. I was in Wal-Mart with my mom and my kids and all of a sudden I was so tired I felt like I couldn't move. With my last pregnancy I was more tired than sick. . . I remember crying if I couldn't get a nap in. Looks like it might be the same deal. Hmmm, maybe another girl?
I'm grateful that my kids get along amazingly well and entertain each other (no small feat at ages 2 and 4) while I doze on the couch. I'm also grateful that my parents live down the street. My mom kept my oldest a lot of afternoons and fed us A LOT during the first trimester with my last pregnancy.

I'm so glad to hear so many others say this too. I was beginning to think something was wrong. It's not bad, just different. But I don't remember this happening with my first.
I'm having moments of nausea. Usually if I wait too long to eat, or an hour or so after I eat. I keep waiting for the "all day sickness" I had last time, but maybe I won't get that this time. :fingersx: I also have moments of superhuman smell. But again not constant like before.
But I have to pee all the time, I'm cranky and irritable and supersensitive. I get tired really easily. Often fall asleep while nursing dd to sleep. But if she wakes me up during the night, insomnia kicks in. Usually at least an hour or two before I get back to sleep.
I also have the constipation and gas and intermittent cramping low in the pelvis. Funny, I can usually distinguish whether it's a gas cramp or a growing uterus cramp. I like the growing uterus cramp! That means growing baby!! The gas, I could do without.
Overall, this pregnancy feels a lot different than the first. I know that most are different, but it's a bit strange to me that every thing seems milder. I hope that's not a bad sign. Oh yeah. I'm also a little paranoid. :o

Yes! I noticed this a few days before I got my BFP! It's gotten a little stronger since then. I remember reading a post somwhere where the mama said "she smelled pregnant" before her BFP. So you're not alone!

I sit here tonight, feeling a little queasy - not full out nauseated, but just blechy in the tummy area, you know? I can't decide if it's maybe morning sickness starting, or if it's the potentially ill-advised Pizza Hut we had for dinner. :bag:

Here's one the first-time moms won't be lucky enough to experience yet: Round ligament pain. I've had it off and on all day today and it suuuuucks.
Does round ligament pain come sooner second time around? Not there yet.
I don't know that it came sooner for me the second time around but this is the first time I've had it so early. I'm on baby #5.
Oh! There it is! Definitely earlier than the first time. 6w6d. I wonder, though, if it's really earlier, or if I just recognize it this time? I've felt that lovely stabbing pain 2 or 3 times today. I sure am glad I know what it is. :)

A new, lovely symptiom for the week (besides this wonderful MS that has hit full-on)...greasy hair. It is the grossest thing ever and no matter how much I wash it, it just gets worse.

I'm 4 weeks and so far, just mild nausea in the evening, very mild heartburn occasionally and some crampy, lower belly (making room for baby) feelings. I keep hoping I'll be one of the lucky ones who doesn't get MS, but from what I read, it looks like I have a week or 2 to gorge myself on flavorful, odorous foods. Also yesterday, after going to the farmers' market, I thought I would pass out from exhaustion.
I was starting to worry that I didn't have any symptoms (no complaints), but after typing this I guess I do have mild symptoms. Here's to hoping it stays that way! Can you tell I'm a first time mom??:D

Ravenous, although today I was a bit less so and had to force some of my food...
And today also first time feeling a bit queasy, guess m/s is on it's way!
General grumpiness blah feeling
Off and on mild cramping
GAS!
And my left boob has gotten bigger and the areola darker... but my right is making no signs of catching up! It's pretty funny, I'm totally lopsided!

Oh, these remind me. I've had the heightened sense of smell for about a week or more but it comes and goes. The best was when I thought I had a brain tumor because I could smell the new scented kitty litter from three rooms away.
And my boobs *seem* a bit fuller, but I'm still not certain.

Can you tell I'm a first time mom??:D:wave Yup. This was me two weeks ago. Now, I am carefully considering everything I put in my mouth, in hopes that it won't make me gag. I say this not to scare you, mind, but because I was just as concerned about not having symptoms. Now, I'd like them to go away a little bit please. :)
And my boobs *seem* a bit fuller, but I'm still not certain.I still would like to put in my order for fuller/bigger boobs. Typically, I'm more than perfectly fine with being on the small size (I wear a "nearly" b, how cute :p) but if I can have bigger ones for a bit that would be good too.

as of now, nausea/vomiting all day everyday. Even when I drink water! The only thing that has helped even a little is sparkling water... so i bought a case today. The nausea gets especially bad at night (like when I get up in the middle of the night to use the restroom...)

^Any nausea I've had is in the middle of the night too! I thought it was odd. I'm glad to see someone else feels yucky in the middle of the night. Although, I wish we all felt good instead! :lol
I think my m/s has started. But, like I said, it's in the middle of the night when I get up to pee! I've felt awful for the last 2 nights in a row and the thought of trying to eat a saltine makes me want to gag. It's always gone by morning but getting back to sleep and sleeping well is difficult and sometimes doesn't happen at all. *sigh*

My m/s has abated and turned into food aversion 24/7. I would say that the nausea never gets as bad as it was during week 5, when I would have said it was a 7 out of 10 - 10 being vomiting hardcore. I still haven't actually thrown up. I hope I don't! I would say I'm at like a 5 most days, with it sometimes getting up to a 6 or 7. At least it isn't constant like it used to be.
Mine is typically all day until about 4 o'clock. When I get home, I can usually eat, albeit very specific things, unless I take a nap. Then I wake up and it starts all over again!
My boobs are still sore as hell, and I'm starting to lose my waistline. Fat is definitely redistributing around my midsection.
My nails look gorgeous and they are hella strong.
My face continues on with the breaking out, lol. I'm considering a facial this weekend, just to get some of this junk out.
Lately I've been craving ice cold coca-cola classic. Don't try to give me a pepsi. It has to be coca-cola. Weird. I limit it, though, just a bit to get me through the craving!
