I'm looking for a cute way to tell my family/friends. I am hoping for ideas of things you have done or have heard of others doing. I do have 5 kids so maybe I could involve them in the "telling."

So let's get those creative juices flowing and hear of some fun ways to tell people we're expecting!

Not sure if this is what we're going to do, but it was an idea that I had for telling my Mom and Aunt (who is like a 2nd mom to me). Chris and I are always taking weekend trips or mini-vacations, and usually afterwards we go over to my Mom's with pictures to show both of them. I was thinking after we have our first ultrasound picture, I would call up and tell my Mom we went somewhere and have pictures to show them. When we get there, we show them the u/spicture! Surprise!

I don't know, seems like a cute idea...

I need better ones too! Keep 'em coming! Especially need an idea for my in-laws, this will be their first grandbaby!

I'm not pregnant (well maybe I am - I'm in the 2ww and lurking on your ddc :innocent). Anyway, our parents live far away so we were thinking of having some pink and blue balloons delivered to their houses with a little note saying, well, something I haven't figured the wording out yet, but you get the idea. :)

I am pg with #1 and it will be my dad's first grandbaby. He is coming to visit me in 2 weeks and I just ordered a t-shirt that says "Grandpa 2008". I am going to give it to him at dinner after I pick him up.
I also found these onsies that say "grandpa rocks" that are really cute.

We told my family last night at family dinner since everyone was already there. One of my cousins that I am close to was even there. I got everyone together for a group picture and said, "Everybody smile...if you need something to smile about..." and my 6 year old girls said, "Mommy's pregnant!" It was really cute because I had a friend snapping a lot of pictures quickly so I got some fun reactions. My younger sister screamed and hugged me since she was standing closest. I think it took a minute for it to settle with everyone else. It was a fun way though. :)

I like the idea of buying the new grandparent stuff too, but that's usually best if it's the first one - not the 10th. :wink

I'm going to tell dh on Valentine's day. I'm redoing his office for Valentine's day. I'm going to hang the kids' hand prints and hang an extra nail, then when I put up their pictures, I'm going to put an empty frame up.

I sent this link to my sister and asked if she liked it. I haven't really told anyone else but my best friend and she knew before I even tested.

With my second, I sent my parents flowers with a card that said, "congratulations on the new grand-baby coming in Oct. '06". My mom thought it was from my sister and jumped all over her case - hehehe. I wanted to surprise DH this time around, but I couldn't keep my big mouth shut and just called him at work. I was so excited!

To expand on the T-shirt idea, have each of your kids make their own
t-shirts with markers or puffy paints with a saying like "I am going to be a big brother/sister". That way they can be involved too! Then head over to the families house and let the kids reveal the secret!

When I was 13 weeks (to the day) with my 1st we told. I gave my parents a wrapped book that was like "Spot Visits his Grandparents" or something-cute little picture book. I think we just told my ILs, hey, we're having a baby. Whenever we finally have #2, I'm going to let my daughter announce it to our families by wearing a shirt that says "I'm the big sister."
