Bead Exchange

Is it too early to start organizing a bead exchange? :o I was reading about one for another DDC and I'm really excited about it! If you don't know what it is, you can read about it here: http://www.mothering.com/discussions/showthread.php?t=725394

I'm not saying I'm volunteering to organize it, I'd just like to do one for our DDC. :wink

Oh, I definitely think we should do this in a few months. Actually, I'd be glad to organize it. I have two birthing necklaces from my last two births, and I love them. I say we do it second trimester.

this is what we did. It helped with postage!
We all bought 20 beads and sent them with little messages to one person along with a SASE, that person seperated all 20 into groups for each person and mailed them back in our own SASE. It worked out great. And we got to read everyone's bead notes and put together the braclet ourselves.....I actually had enough to make mine a birthing necklace.

i feel like i've been through all the bead stores here and keep running into the "same ol'". i'd love to get beads from other people and places - what fun!

I did a bead swap with my June 06 DDC. I love that necklace! I'd defiantely be up for it here, too!

I agree, maybe in the 2nd trimester. We could start a sign-up later on and get a list of mamas who want to participate all in one place. Then once we have a number of beads we each need to get we could send them to one person along with a SASE and $ for shipping...then we'd sit back and wait for our beads to come in!

One thing though...with the # of mamas in our DDC we could be wearing really L---O---N---G necklaces, LOL!:wink
